Not a fan of the chevron pattern on the floor.
It’s not a deal breaker. But I prefer the standard plank look.

 

I love this stove!

 

And it's got a wall oven. The previous house that I lived in had wall oven with the microwave above, as does my current house, and I definitely prefer this layout over a range with a microwave above!

 

The kitchen definitely does not look like what you'd expect to find in a townhouse with a slab foundation!

 

HVAC registers over head and in the side of the walls?
Or are the ones on the wall (down low) returns? Weird?

 

This one had a slab foundation and no basement, so the furnace/indoor coil is up in the attic. The majority of new homes around here have a basement, and thus that is where the furnace is generally located. My parents' house has two separate systems, one for upstairs and one for downstairs; 1st floor furnace/indoor coil is in the basement and the 2nd floor unit is up in the attic. This is done to open up floorplans and optimize space; I personally prefer both units to be in the basement!

 

You want a stove - get a Garland, it was good enough for Julia Child for almost 50 years. This model has 6 burners, 2 ovens, 24" griddle & broiler/cheese melter.

 

I've heard of Garland, and they're badass, but aren't they commercial? Wouldn't it require a beefed up gas/electric supply not found in a residential building?

 

Most of the plans in this neighborhood have the master suite on the first floor, but this one did not...

 

The larger concern is actually venting, since they make considerably more heat than a residential unit they require more CFM than a residential exhaust hood.

Badass indeed!

I saw one for sale a while ago, like new $500, it had been seldom used in a church kitchen for years.

The only things that kept me from lugging it home were:
1) Being 30" wider than my current stove it would require extensive remodeling

2) Weighing in around 1000 pounds it would end up in the crawlspace under my kitchen

3) Cool factor aside - there are only 2 of us to cook for here...
