I got rid of all the chrome stuff inside on mine the only chrome left is the rear bumper and I have black corners to install but never got around to figure out how to change them.

Super easy......there a quite a few decent YT vids on doing it out there. Took less that an hour for both sides having never done it before.

    They basically pop on/off

Yeah I watched some a while back. Isn't there a metal clip that can be a bit of a challenge?

Indeed, but generally it just takes a bit of force. It's a bit more force than you might think, but once you get the initial ones off, the clips generally can be used again.

Just yank the chromed plastic ones out after you pop of the plastic body clips. The textured black caps are much more flexible and go on easily. Shouldn't take more than 20 mins to do both sides...the second one will take you 5 mins.

I always get a kick out of people getting a TRD trim and going out of their way to make it look like an SR (particularly on the inside). But, to each their own.

This is so true. I think the younger crowd likes flat paint too. I guess if you don't want to care for something shiny it's easier to have it look like shit from the start.

That is funny but I wont be critical of that, people like or dislike chrome. what are you going to do?
My SR5 didn't come wit a ton of it. I did get the AJT design Chrome delete kit to do the vent rings, heat/AC controls and the 4 wheel drive knob in Cement to match the truck. I got black emblem covers. I originally took the chrome surround off the Grille and replaced it with a black one like the SR. Now I have a TRD grille that doesn't have any chrome. I'm not really trying to copy anything like make it look like a TRD Pro, Just come up with a look I like. I'm actually thinking about removing the SR5 badges off the rear doors too.

Chrome is classic but sometimes black is better. Badge overlay kit looks good.

I have a buddy that earned a silver medal in the 1982 czechoslovakia isde. He told me he was so happy to be back here in the USA, that everything at the time in that commie country was either gray, or dark gray.

It's all a matter of personal taste. I love bright colors on some things, but as pointed out above, chrome just looks really dated on modern vehicles......
Especially when it's no longer actual chrome, but electro plated plastic.

A chrome looking finish is still chrome whether simulated, or not. Paint is paint, and appears cheap looking. Some bling is good.

Unfortunately that is the issue actually, because it doesn't end up looking like real plated chrome.

When they electro plated the plastic, the slightest twist in the plastic or pressure where it shouldn't be ends up warping and distorting the chrome look, or worse popping or flaking the coating off.
A perfect example of this is the rear bumper caps.
    Ask me how I know!

Drug my driver's cap over a rut with our off road trailer and it hooked and flexed the cap a bit and warped it terribly distorting the bling look. It was awful looking.
Again, it's all opinion anyway. I just find chrome in any form a bit tacky looking, but that is simply MHO.
