I ordered about 4 things from Amazon, set it up for Saturday delivery, only 1 item was delivered. The rest is supposed to come this week, when I'm not home. I hope it's still on the porch when I get home, fingers crossed

It’s terrible that we even have to worry about this stuff!

    No kidding!
I'm very fortunate that I live in an area that is safe enough for that, but even a few blocks away, I'd be concerned. We are on an out of the way dead end street that nobody seems to notice :)

I’ve got a porch bin and a gaggle of nest cameras around my property. The bin allows for packages to be dropped and not visible. It requires some coaching and conversation with delivery guys but about 3 months in we are in a routine finally.

Finally putting my desk project to bed. Started as this (well, I had started stripping 30 year-old polyurethane from the top of a solid-maple desk), with mechanical joints getting weak and wobbly.

    DeskOrange.jpg

Finally stripped all the old polyurethane, incurring heavy scratches and cutting through the laminate top layer of the plywood into MDF.

Fixed the joints, put a new laminate layer on top. Learned the difficulty of staining sealer + penetrating stain on maple, gel stain on scratched surfaces. Finally settled on Seal-a-Cell (1 coat bottom, 2 coats on top) and Arm-R-Seal (2 coats bottom, 3 coats on top). Gloss for Arm-R-Seal for best protection, maybe will do a "satin" Arm-R-Seal later, but ... I have learned enough and had enough fun for now.

Havent made a cutting board in awhile and got a request for one from a fellow pilot. I snuck a tiny hang glider inlay onto it for her.

Well, I finally did what I've been talking about doing for 10 years - a YouTube channel. I lost my previous shop, but I'm tooled up enough again to finally get back to it.

    Here's my first vid -

I’ve shared my computer desk before, but gonna share again since I’ve made some additions. I’m not much of a woodworker, but I made a pretty simple desk with channels routed all around the side for LED strips. Shortly after that, I made a hobby wood oak headset stand with plexi sandwiched in between, with a channel routed through to run led strips. Then some 4x4 pine coasters, messed with epoxy some. Fairly recently, I’ve been tinkering around with some cedar fence pickets since they’re like $3 each to make little fun projects out of. I made a monitor stand, a phone stand with hole routed in for MagSafe charger, and some speaker stands (not pictured). I’ve gotta say, cedar and a router don’t get along :anonymous:. If woodworking doesn’t work out, maybe I’ll become an electrician. I seem to have a knack for wiring lights and hiding wires lol.

From 10’ away! I’m dreading the polyurethane.
