I wonder if it has to do with the model although it really shouldn’t they all should come with 2 keys. As I mentioned earlier my 23 TRD off road premium package came with 2 keys and its production date was June 23 2023

When I bought my 2021 due to the chip shortage I had to wait about 4 months for the spare key.

My SR5 was produced at just about the same time as yours! The plant was in Tijuana so I suppose I got a "Tijuana Taxi"!!
It is Celestial Silver with the gray interior. Very few options but I DID get the $570 technology package. I love the blind spot monitoring!
Thanks to all who replied, I did check my two fobs and they contain keys for the tailgate lock so counting the large key I have three keys for the T/G. I'm obviosly a newbie here!

Push-button start was standard in this pkg.

I got the $570 technology package. When I started adding then subtracting options I was told the SR5 used a standard keyed ignition. I made so many changes I can't keep up with how I got the push-button start but am glad I did.

Me too. Had to hunt and find a extra big and get it cut at a locksmith so both my keyrings match. Such bs and cost cutting by Toyota and other mfg. Pay a huge price and get things like only one big key, no locking fuel access, no elec locking tailgate, stupid short distance remote start.....

Mine is Celestial silver also I love this color but with black interior. The only thing mine doesn’t have is the blind spot monitoring and really wish I did. I didn’t even think to check because it had everything else even leather interior.

For what it's worth, a lockable fuel door is completely irrelevant to modern fuel necks. Nobody can siphon, as evidenced by crackheads drilling 3g Tacoma tanks. a lock would be frivolous and an additional point of failure. You did buy a Toyota to avoid failure points, right?

If a lock is frivolous, why do Toyota cars all come with a locking fuel door?

I cannot comment on why Toyota does things, only that in the case of a 3rd gen Tacoma, you CANNOT siphon that tank. I will Venmo you $100 tonight if you can get a siphon down that neck without a specialized tool.

    You invalidated your own point.

If you can utilize a specialized tool to siphon fuel, then a locking fuel is not frivolous. (But we are out of the realm of tweakers)

Not trying to start an argument, just pointing out that locking fuel doors have a purpose.

I don't know about that dude. If someone has a specially designed jig to push a siphon hose past a 3rd gen tank, I'd wager they also have a drill with a 1/2 metal bit. What you're proposing would be more difficult and time consuming than just drilling the tank, therefore accomplishing it's purpose.. Camry and Avalon tanks are just as easy to drill as tacomas, ground clearance ignored

Same here. 23 sr5 , 2 fob, one tailgate. Did you know that you can lock , unlock driver door with the tailgate key? Mine works for both driver door and tailgate.

You guys are killing me with this. Wtf is a tailgate key? Those haven’t been a thing since like 2017 or 2018.
It’s a valet key and It’s worthless if you have a push to start. Maybe if you deactivated your fob, locked that in the truck and only carried the “big” one I guess, but why would the keys in the fobs be valet keys?
All of your keys open all of your locks unless you have a ‘16,’17 or possibly ‘18. The ones in the fob are directional. If it doesn’t work rotate it 180 degrees
