Upstairs bathroom...

 

This townhouse has a 1st floor master, and 2 bedrooms upstairs (this is the second upstairs bedroom)...

 

Heading over to the other end unit in the second building...

 

The single-family model homes again...

 

The Vinland Elite was not furnished (one of two models not decorated), so I only took pictures of the kitchen and one picture of the 2-story living room. Like the middle unit in the second building, this house went with an upgraded KitchenAid range and microwave hood instead of the standard cooktop/wall oven layout; I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming that this appliance package costs a bit more than the standard Whirlpool units...

 

One large sink is 110% better than a so-called double sink!

 

I believe that this house was also a slab foundation with no basement. One obvious clue is that the return air vent for the HVAC is in the ceiling, which is indicative of the furnace being located in the attic...

Why do I dislike double sinks? This is the one in my parents' house. The left side has a garbage disposal and the rubber side does not. The issue with this style of sink is that it is impossible to fit larger dishes and cookware without tilting them sideways. When my parents had this house built and chose their finishes, my mom asked for a large single sink, but was told she could not get one for some reason. She settled for what was offered, but was particularly annoyed when she went in a neighbor's house and discovered that they had a single sink!



Unfortunately, even though a new sink wouldn't be particularly expensive, reworking the kitchen to accommodate one would be thousands of dollars. The granite countertop would have to be replaced, the plumbing would have to be rerouted and reworked, and there's a possibility that the cabinet would have to replaced; I would NEVER build a house from scratch with a "double sink" in the kitchen!

 

Finally, on to the single-family homes!

 

The Junewood decorated model definitely had a finished basement, but I can't remember if it had a second floor; I am current sitting on the back deck with Porter and drinking coffee as I upload these photos, and the brochures are up in my bedroom, but I believe that this model was a 1-story/2-bedroom not including the finished basement...
