My 2018 came from the dealer with some loose tailgate wiring and I’m attempting to correcting it now. Where the backup camera wiring goes to the truck is a plastic snap fitting. I tried installing it several ways but it still won’t snap into place. How is it supposed to go? Been screwing with this for an hour and I can’t get it into place. Thanks

Dumped the Tacoma, that's all it needed.
You’ll need a new grommet it looks like.

if you buy the tailgate lock from Toyota that should have been stock it also comes with a new grommet.

    two for one, but expensive.

or, someone on here that has their old grommet can send it to you. I do t have mine anymore, otherwise I’d offer it.

thanks! I managed to reinstall it. Then I started looking at videos of thieves stealing tailgates so I addressed that issue also.
