No pictures, but made choriqueso and picked up some boiled corn (Cajun seafood boil)… cut off cob into choriqueso and it was delicious! Big push at the store for all things HATCH, so must be the season… didn’t have the fresh roasted while I was there, so didn’t have that to add.

Vanilla cream pie; plain (too lazy to make whipped cream, no chocolate to add chocolate swirls) but good AF.

No pics from me either...but had leftover pulled pork so threw it in a frittata with halved multicolor cherry tomatoes and a diced orange pepper and drizzled it with home made Dr. Pepper bbq sauce.

Nah, so not true… food obsessed is a better descriptor. I think @Azrael's Gaze is likely the only candidate. @Beef Nachos just cooks and plates like one.

No way dude, every single plate I see here looks like it was done by a chef

I've had a few contributions but they go in my pastry thread.

    @NoOne

    Just for you :luvya:

Not joking though, literally my ugliest pie to date. Left my custard sitting too long as I was messing with my pie crust too much; the beans on parchment paper didn't work and actually tore my crust a bit.

    Pie dough.

    Fold it.

Pre-shape for easier rolling, and into the freezer.

    Vanilla cream.

Beat some ingredients, then go heat other ingredients.

    Mix in the hot ingredients.

    Put ingredients back to heat.

    Done cooking.

    Mix remaining ingredients.

    Cover that shit.

Ice bath that bitch cause it'd take way too long in the fridge.

    Enjoy a snack.

Firm pie dough, time to roll it out.

Lay that shit in a pan, decorate it. Then bake it.

    Pour it.

Didn't want to make whipped cream so, yeah.

It looks like a mess but it tasted pretty darn good.

    20230722_210110.jpg

My wife likes to dump stuff together and it usually ends up working out well. Tonights experiment was tofu cooked in a bit of sesame oil then she added a package of honey glazed root veggies, a jar of Thai curry sauce and rice.

I thought it was funny that the strangest thing in there ended up being the cranberries.

Home made and looks delicious. More effort than I’ve put forth lately in the deserts category.
I looked up America’s Test Kitchen recommendation and they say a sheet of foil filled with ceramic beads (they recommend Mrs Anderson’s) is the best method. Fold excess foil over beads when cooking.

Ordered this from their website. Good stuff it was really smoky and not to salty, which I was afraid of.
