I wanna do this... How much of a fight does the hood put up when closing it? Do you have a brand to recommend?

Not a fight. Just enough force to pull down with 2 fingers. I had the more expensive RedLine Tuning stainless struts on my 3rd gen and the Spiker Engineering basic struts on my 2nd gen. I recommend both. They work equally well. Spiker does allow you to position the hood anchor at different locations for more or less lift angle. I think you can do the same with RedLine although their instructions specify a certain hood mounting position. The best feature of both brands is not fighting to lift the hood. They rise on their own once you lift the hood a couple of inches. The worse part of the installation was the rivet installation working upside down in the hood itself. I have an old manual rivet gun. I couldn't see spending more for a better rivet gun for installing just a few rivets.

Thanks, I'll look into those. I know I have a rivet gun, somewhere, in one of my 25+ tool storage bins I didn't think of labeling... guess I have a reason to go digging around for it!

rear bumper something with good swingout(s)
RCI sliders or similar; good coverage, kickout, 15-20deg tilt, fill plates

front bumper something with full headlight hoops like BAMF and C4 hybrids, ATH Fab

    Welcome to TW! Nice truck!!!!
You can use duplicolor from the auto parts store, or a lot of auto paint shops can mix you some paint, and put it in an aerosol can for you- or you can buy mixed in spray can online.
The real tip is to use 2k aerosol clear coat. It holds up awesome, and protects whatever paint you decide on. Good luck with your project!!

How was dealing with them? Like @HAVOC I'm contemplating the tilted one. I sent them an email but received no response so I'm just a wee bit nervous.
