Well I finished up my BBQ table and grill make over.
I attached the cross braces to the bottom of the table with some stainless steel screws. Only the center screw is tight to allow the table to expand and contract and remain flat.
    20230722_134542.jpg
Then I used the old top as a drilling guide to drill the holes for the mounting bolts. I clamped a block of wood to the bottom so the Brad point drill bit didn't blow out the backside when I broke through.
    20230722_135200.jpg
I tapped in some new stainless steel carriage bolts and used some blue locktite and tighten everything down.
    20230722_141518.jpg
And since I was doing the make over I put a new stainless steel grate on too.
    20230722_141708.jpg
I re installed the utensil hooks but I only use those for the grill brush
    20230722_141731.jpg
Still loving my Weber and now even more. I like the increased surface area. It's only a couple inches wider and 9 inches longer.

Working on some hand carved cedar trim that will go around the top of a cedar planter. The design is one that I drew, it also matches the 8’ oriental sloping cedar bridge that I have been building. Pictures of that will come later.

Thank you. No CNC…that’s all old school scroll saw and hand chisel work. I’m behind the times in that regard. But it brings me peace…a labor of love.

And the cover still fits the BBQ, but I think I need a kids ball to set on the table so that it raises the cover up and then makes the water run off.

Walnut frame today for a new painting from my dad.

Burney Falls in NorCal. My wife and I visited at spring break. I took the photo and my father painted it.

My son went down to my Father In Laws shop and turned this candle holder for his mom. We are not sure of what species of wood it is, but it came out great.

Pour a little in your mouth and spray it on the wood. Eliminates the need for a compressor and spray gun

    I’ll shut up now

If your going to spray that spar urethane you'll need to thin it out, spare is usually too thick to spray as is. And it takes a long time to cure.
