    A bed cover has always been essential for me, it’s the first thing I purchased for the two trucks I’ve owned.

    The only reason I don’t have one now because I needed more cargo space for long haul trips so I upgraded to a shell.

    Same, but instead of a shell I upgraded to the Softopper, so I can easily collapse it for oversized furniture and the like.

    At least until I put a bed rack over top of the Softopper...

    They provide minimal security. At least a hard tonneau cover or hard shell deter a tweaker from sticking a knife through the cover and stealing your stuff.
