Apparently, I had to google it. Needed to know where I was looking for the 4wd switch so I could pick it out in ads. They’re pretty common over here.

You sure you’re staying in AZ? If they ship your wife off to another base, might need 4WD
Rental car specials. Rare on the East Coast, but you’ll find em at LAX, etc

I don’t expect to keep the car forever, I rarely do if history tells us anything. Betty white was actually the longest I’ve owned a vehicle and that was six years. We’ll be here for three years so if I can keep the t4r that whole time, that’s already a win.

Not a bad plan. But we’ll see if you change your mind as the wind blows :D

That Tundra of yours of nice. Can’t really replace it these days without shelling out a lot of money. Just remember that.

Also, if you ever decide to come up for the winter. Gonna have a bad time. Want to get back to some better camp sites in the cinders, not going with 2wd

On the flip side, that benefits me during trade in. I’ve got a guaranteed $38.4k from carmax and could easily sell private party for low 40s. Which is crazy because that was close to msrp for the truck three years ago.

I’ve done my fair share of winter camping on the east coast and earned that badge. Shit’s cold. We’ll see though, I’m not totally writing off 4wd, it’s just difficult to find one that meets my criteria and price point. There’s ONE that would be perfect but it’s a private party sale and dude is out of town for a few weeks.

I’d never go 2wd with all the snow we get in AZ

This is assuming I would leave the valley to seek out snow in the wintertime.

This is a lie. I go everywhere in the cinders in 2wd. Not during winter, but summer yeah

Oh I get it. Taking the money is nice. It’s just hard to sell a vehicle that has served you well and is reliable. Who knows what you’re buying.

that being said i have an 09 2wd 2.7 m/t and is actually pretty good in snow with snow tires and no weight in the bed.

This morning I did the last of the prep to trade it in. I have a friend coming over in the morning and we’re swapping exhausts and then Wednesday I’ll start hitting dealerships. I don’t have my factory exhaust anymore, and this one doesn’t add any trade in value, so figured I would trade my buddy and make his day.

Those things are too damn expensive. I understand the market, but $30k for a 4Runner with that kind of mileage is highway robbery.

I don’t disagree but it balances out in a sense because of the higher trade in value, like we mentioned before. They’ll sell my truck for $45k all day which is crazy for something three years old and 37k miles. It just is what it is now, cars are more expensive and I don’t see that changing anytime soon, if ever.
