I had a 2019 before and sold it. My new one is Magnettic Grey TRD OR and has the LED headlights and interior led light upgrade. I am starting get a little nervous looking at facebook groups and a few post on here of some 2022 and 2023's all of the sudden shutting completely down and people being stranded or leaks on the passenger side under the glove box due to hvac and/or windshield issues. I didn't have any issues with my 2019.

Is there a post on here anywhere or a possible number of people that have had to have engines replaced or interiors ripped out vs number of units sold? Really want this 2023 which is due to arrive in 9 days.

Every single 3rd gen Tacoma's AC will leak on the passenger floor board if operating in a humid enough environment. It's a "feature" and not unique to 2022 and 2023.

One dude's engine died (the recent thread you're most likely referring to); they're still investigating and there's a thread dedicated to engine failures with detailed information leading to the failure.

Leaks, can happen with any manufacturer.

    Same with anything else.

Every company is bound to put out a lemon, that doesn't mean they'll all have the same issue so why worry?

Yeh my 2019 did that every once in a while down here in Florida. Most of the time I left it on recirculate and no issues. But I have seen lately several post about a leaking front windshield which scares me to death.

Probably why third gens don't come in yellow... at that point it would basically be admitting fault

If you didn't have issues with your '19 why would you be freaking out already about a '23?

Your 2019 is a third gen. The 2023 is a third gen. They are virtually indistinguishable to most people. The engine is the same. The AC evap hose route is the same.

Correct it seems to just be more recent after covid production from what I am seeing. Again totally probably reading too much into it.

There have been a little over 116,000 units sold in 2023. The number of post on here stating problems won’t give you a good representation of the number of real issues that exist. I wouldn’t worry about it personally. They sell a lot of trucks and the echo chamber of Facebook and the forums doesn’t give an accurate picture number wise.

Facebook is instantly 100 times worse than here.

Many of us (myself included) have quit those groups mainly due to the amount of misinformation spread throughout.

Sit down, grab a cold one, and do something to take the time while your '23 makes its way to you.

If we worried about all the 'what ifs', well...it'd be chaos everywhere in this world.

I see you have a 2022 TRD OR as well. How many miles do you have so far? Any issues minor or major?

And to piggyback on my own post, you will only read about issues.

Aside from a post here and there saying I love my truck, or check this mod out, who is really going to post a thread stating that they're happy their truck does what it's supposed to?

You pay that money and expect it to work as intended, which is why threads surrounding issues exist, because we shouldn't expect any issues.

~8k miles but it's a pure off-road wheeler. I've changed the gears, the front and rear suspension, the electronics, the head unit, running 35" tires, etc.

And I still haven't had any issues.
