I realize I'm late to the party, but McMaster Carr.

I order stuff from them on a regular basis - if I order by 6:00, I almost always have it hand the next day. Can't beat that.

He lives down the street from me so if I get anything, he just brings it to me. It's a pretty sweet deal haha

I’d be down! Prentice Cooper/Big Fork would be fun. Some good lines with bypasses available

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Suggestions on battery disconnects so that I stop draining my battery when the truck sits.
Yes I could just take the battery cables off, but wanted your thoughts on this.

I been using one, on and off. I think I really just need a disconnect.

I use a Blue Sea Systems switch for my winch, and a smaller on as a battery cut off in my big teardrop. One of those should work for you.

Years ago, I remember seeing a battery terminal that had a built in disconnect. A little larger than a regular terminal - guess they worked OK, I never used one.

I'll second the Blue Sea Systems switch and add that LambTek makes an excellent mount for them.

They offer several styles as well.

No suggestion, but anyone know the risks of a disconnected battery for extended time on 3rd gens? I can't seem to remember the details, but I definitely remember reading through a thread about someone doing some sort of maintenance, and had major ECU issues after having the battery disconnected for some length of time. I'm sure there was probably more to the story, but maybe someone can speak into it, if there actually are some sort of negatives (no pun intended) for disconnecting the batery for a while. (I assume its like resetting ECU values like idle/shift points/etc and may be problematic trying to start, or for the first few drives).

Learned values will not be reset from a battery disconnect.
However, other things may need to be initialized after reconnecting. I have not had this happen after having my battery disconnected for hours at a time though, so I'm not certain as to the root cause of those issues.

I've had mine disconnected for multiple hours with no issues; everything I've seen seemed to be pointing back to extended lengths of time, like multiple days/weeks disconnected. I'd think it wouldn't cause any kind of major issues, but just wanted to bring it up in case anyone else had seen similar reports of "major issues" like no-starts/idle too rough to run/etc.

Thanks man, I drive it monthly, just not weekly. I think that’s my issue. I got the shit to hook up solar, just need to do it.
Probably smarter doing that than disconnecting.
