2.4l 2004 cold air intake

So,
Im brand new and cannot find this anywhere on the interwebs. What do I do with this little hose circled in red when I put on a maf adaptor plate and cold air intake filter. Speak slow I’m half retarded. Any help would be awesome

 

It will need to go into the air intake some place before the MAF sensor.

Your not drawing the warm air from the engine Compartment kinda is hotter then your stock set up.

 

Maybe the “cold” part of the “cold air intake” is the cold hard cash so many people waste on them for a Tacoma (of any generation).

@Ballsgoat - to be clear the stock intake is a cold air intake. The aftermarket “cold air” intakes are the opposite of an upgrade for actual performance, but most people that get them are tricked by their ears with new and louder noises that it’s “better”.

 

Goes to show what a good marketing campaign can do!!

 

Hey man say what you want but... i did notice power adding one in, granted it was after a few hundred miles of letting the ecu relearn. i wouldnt expect instant power after install @Ballsgoat

 

You have the Dyno results print out??

Just how was your Horse power increase documented and proved?

Do you have before and after intake air temperatures?

 

Honestly id wish i had went on a dyno before and after so i couldve seen how much i was putting out. My truck used to feel like a slug but it definitely pulls more now and thats enough proof for me im also at an elevation of around 20-40ft so that plays into it aswell

You can even get rid of that hose going across the entire engine bay....

all that is needed is filtered air for the canister....

Numerous ways to do that.

 

And there are numerous Cold air intakes that avoiding sucking in the hot engine air....

none of them are cheap....

 

Are you drawing air from outside the engine compartment ??

Just which cold air intake ??

This is being compared with a new Filter in the stock air intake?

these guys here can be a big help......mostly on what NOT to do....

but sometimes they get stuck in a groove........

.......probably just age, and poor circulation.....

 

It draws from the wheel well and its a kn kit not just a replacement oem filter

 

Word will do my man. got some parts ordered and ready to tinker on the truck once they are here. Things been great to me so I just wanna take care of it also.
