Hendrick. Can’t speak for their service, but when I want/need an OEM part I go there because they are the closest to where I live. I get it shipped there and pick it up so I don’t have to pay shipping.

That sucks. Now that I looked at the install instructions, I see what you mean.

I guess I'll try the Rogue GTFO Expedition mount.

I've done a few things while waiting for the heat to dissipate, ha.

First, built an ammo can fire pit with Tacticool Fire Pits DIY kit. Even tried a quick and dumb logo so it wasn't so plain. Going to add some lava rock the next time I'm up in Flagstaff.

Also mounted my camp water heater up to a hard case. Now its extra portable. Just connect to propane and a water source and go.

Redid my roof rack setup in prep for my new tent.

And then yesterday, my buddy helped me install my new rtt. 4x4 Colorado Alto Mini. A little bit bigger than I was expecting, ha. But its dope as f!

Even clears my awning and brackets without having to move anything.

Double sleeping bag, a blanket for my beasties, and 2 pillows. Had to pull the quilt back out to close. This is also with the OEM mattress. I usually use the Exped Duo but wanted to give this one a try.

Do it. Top is my Izula 2 I carry every single day, and bottom is my S35 Izula that lives in my console. I added extended scales from The Knife Connection to that one.

RC seat covers round 2... these are nice for the $100 I paid for them back in 2020.

Rough Country sent me a replacement set of seat covers at no cost since mine ripped. Nice customer service.

Removed seats to install ... Read about it here if you're interested or to see how I modified the covers to stay in place a little bit better. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...at-covers-review.678922/page-18#post-28969094

That is a combo of KBVoodoo awning brackets and some counter support brackets from Amazon. Drilled some holes and bolted them together to have a stronger and taller awning mount. I posted the youtube link before from where I got the idea from. Can't find it now of course, ha.

Been wanting to remove the ugly factory port installed PPF on my truck bed since I bought the truck, finally have an appointment next week.

They told me most of the labor is in removing it, cleaning up the glue left behind, etc. My main concern is pulling the terrible super white paint off of my truck, and I don't trust anyone. So I started on the sections behind the rear wheels today, I'll do the PPF in front of the rear wheels tomorrow.

    Steps:

    1. Park truck in direct sun for a few hours. It's currently about 95^F down in Charlotte, I parked in the sun for a half hour. This heats up the PPF adhesive evenly.

    2. Remove lower trim piece with one 10mm bolt and two clips. This trim piece has a very thin piece of 3m tape holding it to the truck. I was able to pull the trim piece off the truck slowly, retaining this strip of 3m tape.

    3. Peel PPF. Go slow.

    4. You're now probably left with a bunch of staining from dirt behind/around the trim piece, and on the edges of the now removed PPF. Get a magic eraser and some detailing spray or clay lube, or even some soapy water and a wash mitt. Wash the dirt off the best you can, rinsing the mitt often as to not scratch up the paint. Once it's all cleaned, use the magic eraser and detailing spray and lightly go over everything until you no longer see any evidence of PPF or staining.

    5. Clean and reinstall trim piece.

    You removed/cleaned only, but didn't re-apply a film?

Is there a reason Toyota left the bottom orange peel on the paint????

I have an appointment next Wednesday for film re-application. Having it done in a few more locations on the truck than what I removed, but wanted to save labor charges of removing it.

The bottom "orange peel" is supposed to be there. It is called chip guard.

Installed Start X remote starter. Wish they told you that to stop the TPMS sensor from blinking you have to press the brake after turning the key to on. Works like a champ.

Took my Taco to Toyota to do the third brake light recall. Then got a call four hours later that the light is cracked and it would be a $912 fix! Pretty sure it wasn't cracked when I brought it in. Told them I would fix it myself. Picked up an LED light from R4T and made an installation video. Enjoy!

You program them to replace the remotes for automatic garage/fence/shop door openers.

    What is RTFM?
