It’s going in my 2009 4wd, 4 door, long bed Tacoma

 

Once I pick up the engine I just plan on getting the truck running again N/A with the stock ECU. I will run it like this till probably next year and then add forced induction. I have always run turbos but I have recently taken a liking to the procharger kit, would be interesting to hear what you guys think. Eventually I will follow in @Torspd foot steps and run a Haltech.

 

Once you get it all up and running let us know how it went with this particular shop. I’ve been pondering a similar project. We frequent SoCal/Torrance area to visits friends/family and could use this shop for similar project.

 

Spending a solid amount of money to build a legit racing 1GR-FE and then go FI. What auto tranny can sustain that? All Tacoma 4 door long beds are autos. It’s gonna be a sad ending to this story if you go procharger and automatic after all this work. I hope you go custom t56 and turbo that all day!!

Cruiser Bros is a legit shop. They installed an LRA tank for me a few years ago. Their shop was full of Toyota gems.

TRD intake if you don't want to go stock passes as it has a CARB EO sticker for it. Plenty of us have the setup. I just did mine with it and passed. They will only pass one with a carb eo. Also Holley and i think a couple others have it. but the AFE is not.

 

I have def wondered about this setup before. You guys think that if our RatioTek setups would work in place of the nomad valve body?

I have wondered how much abuse the auto transmission will be able to take. I always figured that I would get to it once I get the engine running. It’s been so long that my biggest focus is to just have a running truck again. The cruise brothers is a good find so I will definitely be contacting them.

I saw in your description that you have an AWD Xrunner. What components did you use to set that up?

 

I am looking into getting a new radiator and wanted to see what you guys think. I have been going through the CSF radiator thread trying to figure out if everyone is happy with CSF and the reviews seem mixed so I am still not sure which direction to go. CSF, AFE, or Mishimoto.

 

i installed a shift kit in toon's truck when he was turbo'd and handled the boost just fine, even when he added more boost. the stock engine however...

 

i would be interested.

 

if i were to do it over again i would go with whatever is cheaper. when i got mine only csf was available.
