I just leave mine in an old metal cookie tin. Along with the fob for my brother's Lexus. 100% signal blocked.
Doesn't do anything for the battery though.

I saw this a few days ago but what I don’t understand is that once you deactivate the constant searching feature he says push a button to activate it. Does that mean it goes back to constantly searching? Is this something you have to do evertime you want to lock the truck?

So it looks like the dealer broke your 3rd brake light while attempting to fix a factory defect and then had the cojones to try and charge you close to $1K to replace it?!

Excellent work and DIY video! Thanks!

The factory/port PPF on our hood has some sap stains that can't be removed. It did its job, but even after a good clean-up I can still see the stains in the PPF. So I'm having it replaced by a local detailer soon. Great tips. Thanks!

Yup. Once you do the deactivate sequence, your fob no longer connects to your truck. This should be done after you lock your truck. Then just hit the unlock button, get in, and your fob works as advertised until you hit the 3 button sequence again

New headlight bulbs, new mud flaps, a green truck. It looks like you found a replacement after getting smashed by that bug?

Some car washing soap or even dish soap and a little scrubbing should take it right off. It also works on latex paint scraped off the side of the garage onto a car. And of course I have no idea how I would know that :anonymous:

I did indeed. Had been shopping online mostly, and checked out at a few in person last week, but none of them did it for me. I was starting to get frustrated with the process. On the way home late one Saturday evening, I got the notion to drive through the lot of a nearby dealer and found this one sitting on the lot; I hadn't seen it online at that point. I fell in love with the color, and the condition, mileage, and price beat everything I'd seen previously. It was a long 30-some hours waiting for the dealer to open the following Monday.

Really happy with it. I suppose I just can't help myself adding some things to make it "mine"; it's all been the same stuff I did to my last Taco so far.

    Too much to list
What are you doing to get 24mpg?

I’m “only” on 33s and I get 14. I can’t imagine a couple hundred lbs from my front bumper and winch are making THAT much of a difference.

Adding this to the to-do list. Which mirror did you get from Bob's automotive? And did you need the adapter? I'm assuming it's literally plug and play? Looks slick!

    I purchased this one:
    https://www.bobsmirrors.com/Gentex-...g-Play-For-2016-2023-Toyota-Tacoma_p_327.html

Go there and read the Red Text regarding the adapter. I was fortunate to not need it.

Yes, very simple plug and play.
