Tacoma’s available i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain generates an electrifying up to 326 net combined horsepower and an eye-popping 465 lb.-ft. of low-end torque at 1700 rpm. With the electric motor located in between the 2.4L turbocharged engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, you’ll feel the instantaneous torque whether you’re charging up the trail or merging onto the freeway.

Sort of bummed they’re not staying with the gigantic embossed stamp. Might actually look normal for a change.

Gonna be good! Can already tell from the teasers it is going to be so much better looking than the 4G Taco.

Based on the stringing along on the Tacoma expect pricing around January 1!

Hopefully the new land cruiser is aimed at poor build/recall ford bronco and not the GX crowd

If anything the 4 runner would be that and the Landcruiser is more money because it possibly has the V6 the tundra has

From what I have read the Land Cruiser will not have the 3.5 V6 TT engine. It will have the same engine as the Tacoma. They want to differentiate the Land cruiser from the GX. Not 100% sure though but makes sense

They hid the new Tacoma in plain sight. The new Land Cruiser is too close to the current 4Runner. They can't offer both, and the 4Runner isn't going to get bigger so it will be smaller. Maybe the new 4Runner is also hiding in plain sight. [IMG]

That LC will probably be a more utilitarian version of the GX, priced above the Sequoia, but below the GX. That will leave plenty of room in the 50-57K range for the 4-runner. If someone wants a Toyota SUV in the 40-49K range they slotted the highlander there.

I like that Frontier style front fascia, of course it does look better with the heritage style grille.

The issue with the new 4Runner is it will cut into Tacoma production. Given the 4R is based of the Hilux, and the 4G Tacoma will probably be what the rest of the world gets as a Hilux, but with the 4.0 v6 and a 2.8t diesel. Will there really be room for the 4R or Hilux Surf?

Didn’t the previous version of the Land Cruiser go for $100,000 ?

How will it cut into Tacoma production if it is made in the same factory it is being made in now...same factory the GX and the rest of the Lesxus's are made in. It has never cut into tacoma production before, why would that change. You have no clue what the next 4 runner is based off of..

That would leave the Sequioa as useless. It's already not popular and expensive. LC is rumored to get the 2.4t which seems kind of under powered for the LC. Maybe the new LC will be a shortened version of the GX 550? The silhouette teaser looks to be the same length as the GX. Offering two larger SUV with the 3.5tt does not sound practical.

It started at 87K but it was also the same size as the Lexus LX so the current LX took its place. The issue with the Land Cruiser in the US before was that is commanded a premium price without the premium name tag.

This new one for the US market is more than likely going to be built off the GX platform and more sensibly priced, they can't really price it above the GX (same issue they had before) and they can't put it below the Sequoia (devaluing it). So my guess is somewhere in the middle.

Now, if they keep it the size of the LX with the same platform, they will be right back into 80K where they started. Possible, but I think its going to a lot different with a different approach.
