The Sequoia is pretty much useless, especially the current version, it doesn't even benefit from loads of cargo space like its competition (Tahoe/Expedition)

Why build an all new TNGA-F SUV in Japan when the all new TNGA-F Tacoma is built in Mexico when Toyota is increasing i-Force Max production at one of those Mexican facilities?

    That does not make sense.

GX and LC are most likely produced in Japan.

It' not useless if it is smaller and lighter. Offering 2 with the 3.5 can be practical if the Land Cruiser is more utilitarian and priced as such. It also could be offered with both engines.

Canceling it two years into production don't make much sense, but doing so probably wouldn't be a huge loss. It's a Tundra underneath.

Because they are already building SUV's off the TNGA platform in Japan....and all Toyotas vehicles are transitioning to that platform, so there is no need to chase a specific factory to make that transition, all of their factories are making that transition.

If they are going to cancel it they would do it in year 4-5 once the Land Cruiser has its legs underneath it to give them options to feel that market out. Anything else would not be smart business.

IDK I just want a 2dr pick up version.

Also, why would anyone want a downsized Sequioa?

Because its a better off road vehicle? Because it has the Land Cruiser name on it? ....Because it is not an oversized soccer mom mini van replacement?...there are more than a few reasons.

You should probably start getting as many 2 door versions of the older generations to last a lifetime, sounds like your not a customer for the new stuff anyway, I'm not sure your gonna see a 2 dr version.

I was talking about a Tacoma based 4Runner, that would be very similar to a downsized Sequoia. I'd just get the Land Cruiser for the reasons you listed, short wheelbase version with clamshell rear doors.

They were and still are ridiculously overpriced. It should be interesting to see what Toyota does.

I thought I saw an article mention it's a shorter wheelbase than the 200 series and current 300 series which rock crawlers like myself love. The homerun is a solid front axle but highly doubtful.

Yeah, I'm a fan of the Land Cruiser, but for that kind of pricing to make sense to me, because they are similar in size , you would have to convince me that the Land Cruiser lasts twice as long as a 4 runner for that to make sense to me. (in 2021 the 4 runner actually scores higher than the Land Cruiser in predicted reliability ratings)

That kinda makes sense, they keep showing it alongside a 60 series, and the 60 series wheelbase was shorter than the 200.

If you have to ask then you can’t afford it. :) I’m sure it will cost the same as two 4Runners like the last Land Cruiser did. It doesn’t make much sense at all to buy one unless you really need a refrigerated center console.

Toyota already has a lot of competitive small, mid, and large size SUVs. This year they're adding a Grand Highlander and the LC. Where they are lacking is something to compete with the Wrangler and Bronco. Not sure the new 4Runner will be anything like the current model or the Tacoma.

Silhouette looks like it has radius arms up front, unless the frame slopes down in that section.

They might offer both. Bit of redundancy in their CUV lines. Corolla Cross, RAV4, Highlander, Venza, Grand Highlander. Not sure why they offer so many, but they do!

    Assuming that is a skidplate.
