off to a good start here today. wife took newest cat to the vet. while she was out of the way got my chores done.

ran sweeper on all the hard surfaces, did dishes, started laundry, flipped the couch over & cleaned under it (dat was nasty), took dogs a walk around the topside, picked up the dog poop near the house, fed everybody, got some forum work done over at WG. going to work with the wife here in a bit & taking her out to lunch afterwards at a place she likes to go.. she has a short day today.

then we'll see if i can get to that bitmoji thing when she is occupied this evening. :)

now gotta get over to the mower/chipper thread & catch up there.

    living the dream every day!

    Good afternoon everybody.

So this morning was a follow-up with the retina doctor for my floater that appeared a few weeks ago.

Fred the floater had disappeared on me a couple of weeks ago. I am still noticing a small fuzzy spot lower in my vision, not a dark mass like Fred was, but a softness that is noticeable sometimes when reading or strangely enough looking over my shoulder.

After a nice dose of super dilation drops and a lot of bright lights shining in my eye the doc tells me the hemorrhage is still leaking a very small amount. I’ve basically had a very small “retinal stroke” caused by an age related occlusion. I’ve got some signs of hypertension too which didn’t cause the hemorrhage, but didn’t help it either. This is what’s causing the fuzzy spot in my vision, it’s a type of macular degeneration. It’s treatable, the procedure will make you wince and your eye water, but is pretty easy and painless overall. In case you’re wondering on the treatment
Injections into the white of your eye

First treatment was done today, next one in 6 weeks.

The fuzzy spot is here to stay so I guess Fred the Floater is now Fred the Fuzzy Spot.

Appointment with my primary doctor for my blood pressure has been made.

Is getting transportation difficult for them? Do they have their own van or do they rely on finding a volunteer to do it in their personal car?

I talked to the husband who is a truck driver and knows the area better. And they are going to catch me on the way up instead.

    That’s good
Not unreasonable for you to expect them to “meet you halfway” given the distance you’re already traveling

This is going to work out way better anyway doing it on the way up. My last stop is the one I usually finish up with and I can get off the island the best I can and head to the mountains. I try to get as far away from NY City as possible before I stop for the night. It’s a lot of people I mean a loooot of people.

I’ve been trying to get them to hook up with some rescues out west or just different but no luck.I’ve had another rescue try to poach me for about a year and I was joking about I would like to do some transports out west and she came back anything you want. She sorta scared me!

I had the same sentiment when I drove past it on I-95 years ago. It looked like L.A. to me...

How is the air quality and Canadian fog doing out yer way? Hopefully it won't stop you from getting out and going camping. I've been enjoying looking up all of the places that come out of your descriptions when you play 'where am I' with Marty.

She's getting big. Not such a baby anymore....

That's great news rocketman!!! So happy to hear that.

Hope Fred the fuzzy spot eventually goes away and yes, get your BP under control!!!

I'd like to visit a few places, but not stay any longer than necessary. Not a big city fan either.....
