You can trick the ADD or go to an FJC tube and stub shaft to eliminate the ADD all together

I'm assuming that is not something you can have done ahead of time? Like you have to wait until you actually have an AGM battery installed to tweak the alternator output?

Correct. Too many volts to a standard lead acid battery is no bueno. Get the AGM first.

I don't suppose any of you in here have any quality flood pattern ditch lights that you would like to trade for some Rigid DSS pro spot pattern?

I have bad quality flood led cubes, if you’re interested in those…. Well I shouldn’t say “bad.” More like imported commodity grade…I think the brand is “Of-roud lits”. They light up! :anonymous:

Great idea! I’ll let everyone know once they pull the TC and when I’m heading up there.

Like mentioned you'd have to do something with the ADD on the front diff. Most likely swap the stub shaft and tube off the front diff from a limited. Also I believe the transfer case itself is just a little longer so would need a rear driveshaft from a limited also.

Wonder if a 4wd ECU from a limited would drop in your trim. Otherwise there might be dash lights that the ADD is missing or not transitioning.

I'm sure someone's done it would be a cool project!

Nope. It's not really a huge difference but having it tweaked years ago, whether it made a difference or not, it gave me peace of mind knowing that I could run lights for days and I always had a strong start.

It's not enough to reach danger levels, plus your ecm is good about not letting things get out of hand. The original tune I had on my truck years ago was set up for this and I'm still running that factory battery. We just realized when I updated the tune a month or two ago that... We didn't do the battery setting. And then I had a hard start last week after the truck set for about seven days. So... Lol

Yeah it wouldn't start this morning. Jumped it brought it to work. Gave it the old battery diagnostic test and it looks like... It's old. Losing its ability to maintain charge while sitting. I'm half tempted to just pour distilled water into the cells and see if that helps lol
