can you interchange a 8 port engine where a 2.7 4 port

i dont know a whole lot about trucks or cars and all that but me and my father are trying to repair my late mothers truck, we have a 3rz engine 8 port with the spark plug coils on top we're trying to put into the 4runner the old engine was a 2.7 4 port 3rz with the spark plug coils on the side, dad said they probably arent stock plug and play, if they arent what mods would you have to do to switch them?

This can turn into a nightmare real quick.

These things are much easier with a complete donor vehicle in hand.

If you have the engine harness and ECM with the engine it is much easier

Repinning the 4th ECM plug which needs removed from inside the truck cab

What your doing is making the truck engine into what ever year 4runner Moms is.

You need the EWD`s from all vehicles involved or down load from $$$ TIS or All Data

Both Automatic 4x4`s
