I've searched but don't see any write ups for installing leafs and rear shocks. Am I just useless with the search tool or is there legit not one?

Trying to see what I'm getting myself into

Oh there will be some mods all right
I don't say this lightly, if I can do it, you can do it. Just watch a YouTube video and follow along with each step, that's what I did.

I did the front UCA and coilovers myself and that wasn't too bad. Only threw like 3 wrenches.

It doesn't seem complicated as long as shit lines up. I saw a video where a guy used a ratchet strap to pull on the drum to get things to align after his truck shifted on him.

Its a pretty straight forward install *knocks on wood*. Most issues I've seen have been rust related when it comes to the shocks. Then it becomes a pain in the ass and having to get creative. You replacing the entire leaf pack or installing an add a leaf?

Mid-west and suspension parts don't like to play nice. Worse was the one time @G.T. place, the metal sleeve in the bottom bushing rusted to the bolt. Had to cut off the bottom eyelet, get most of the bushing off, apply heat and then separate the sleeve and bolt. @Missouriprerunner my best advice to make things go smooth is check your bolts ahead of time. If they look like shit buy some spares ahead of time. Hopefully having a 2018 means it won't be bad, I just tend of operate under Murphy's law.

Got new greasable shackles from bamf, bushings and greasable pins, deaver u402 leaf packs, and dobinson extended travel shocks.

Truck is a 2018 but spent all it's life up until last year in Texas so it hasn't see salt but one winter so far. It looks great underneath so far from what I've seen.

I think this has been the only month of my life I've been busy every weekend. I'm still busy this weekend and the weekend after but after that I should be free until Thanksgiving lol

As long as nothing is seized (which seems to never be the case) its a fairly easy job with the right tools and an extra set of hands.

Shocks are top and bottom bolts, leafs are more involved.

-You'll want tall jack stands to support the rear end of the truck. You'll want enough room to droop your axle out or you'll end up doing one side at a time so a tire can be on the ground.
-Then you'll support the rear axle with a jack while you unbolt the ubolts.
-Once that's loose, make sure your ebrake cable isn't still attached to the leafs.
-undo the rear bolt on your leaf spring (I'd do this part one side at a time so you aren't dropping both), then lower the axle till you can lift the leaf off the perch easily, but don't do that just yet.
-Undo the front leaf bolt and then lift the leaf up and out.
-Do the leaf removal in reverse on this side, then do the other side.
-Once both leafs are back in and tight, install the new shocks.

This is all from memory, so I could be wrong.

Step one. Hose all bolts down with penetrant. Everyday, for like a week before you try it. And try the front hanger bolts first.
They will be the ones that fight if any do. Might as do a ubolt flip kit while youre in there as well.

You forgot the part where you bring the cup full of grease and absolutely slather those bushings before you slide them in

    Support the flip kit
