I use Avenza to navigate drivable forest roads on WMAs, but haven’t found any satellite view maps that I can use to plan routes off trail. It works great to show me where I am on the WMA brochure map, but doesn’t do much beyond that. Just now I searched again for a popular WMA near me and no satellite view maps at all.

I use Topos/MVUM and have to upload your own maps, as satellite isn’t the best for telling elevation. Use it mainly for single track, so when we are doing maintenance, such as clearing down trees, rebuilding water bars, washouts etc, we have to drop a pin where the work was done, then turn that in with another form, the USFS will only recognize Avenza coordinates.

Personally I like Gaia, but have to use Avenza for trail work.

Ya. Avenza interface prioritizes detail over usability.

When I am going up a road, I just want to know if that entrance to this side dirt road will lead to something interesting/allowable. And I want it fast. I don't need to be bogged down in details or clumsiness. Onyx seems to strike that balance. Don't care if they pay influencers, isn't geeky enough, or whatever. It just works for me.

Problem with OnX is, trails are often miss labeled for access, we see a lot of UTVs trying to go down single track, usually the answer is “OnX said it was open!” Or trails are missing completely. Had a guy just this last trip insisted on leading even though I have been riding this area for years and knew it well. Has trails on my app, and they were missing on his, or the trailhead was in the wrong place. After he made a few wrong turns or missed the trail completely because it wasn’t even showing on his map, he finally let me lead. He looked at mine and said “wow mine doesn’t have half of that information!” I replied back “yeah, OnX isn’t really the best…they do have great marketing though!”

Might be ok for Jeep roads, but for single track it is quite lacking. Often times you can’t even see single track via satellite imagery. Also need to use Topo maps to see contour lines to estimate how gnarly a trail could be.

This has nothing to do with official pics and videos of the 2024 Tacoma.

Mang, you’re a grumpy SOB! Lol! Ya know there is a fantastic feature if you don’t like what you read, you can scroll…if people really annoyed ya hit the ignore button. Sure I annoy the shit out of ya, cause I like to bullshit. Lol!

It will if you run the app through that giant informant screen! Use mine often!

Sorry couldn’t find a pic of 4G running a nav app, Tundy will have to do. *hugs!*

I wish the off-road look like that. I like color matching fender, and so glad the new OR doesn't have chrome bumper no more!

It is because of that stupid boxy line on both the front and rear fender.
