Yesterday's playtime with the neighbor's puppy!

 

Bailey is an Australian Cattle Dog, so her natural instinct it to attempt to herd Porter...

 

13/10 would give many ear scratches

 

He's a rescue and very scared of men he doesn't know. It took six times for my girlfriend to come over to the house before he stopped barking at her. One thing this rescue (Home at Last) does is get older (4-5 months old) puppies from puppy mills, because the Amish kill the ones they can't sell to avoid the USDA requirement to vaccinate. We got Porter when he was five months old, literally a week before COVID lockdowns started. The fact that we did not have many people over at the height of the pandemic did not help his socialization. He loves other dogs and is great with kids. If you have a dog, regardless of your gender, you don't have to worry about him getting to know you because he trusts anybody with a dog. He has known all of the men on our culdesac since we got him, and sees them regularly, so he is fine with them. The fact that many people he met back in 2020 were wearing masks also did not help things, as he was terrified of masks. He has calmed down a lot, and once he got to know you he would definitely let you scratch his ears!

 

The deer have figured out that there's a fence there...
