I just reserved a site at trailhead. Is it me, or are their rules getting retarded?

I've suggested to the owners that each new rule should be named after the asshole that caused it to be written.

 

Also, I feel like there might be better word choices available, fwiw

The helmet rules and parking rules both appear to be egregiously subjective. No helmet requirements for padot motor vehicles, so the issue must be insurance. It is written in a way that suggests if they are biased against someone they will enforce the rules.
The term retarded, such as in brake retards, indicates that the policy will drive away potential businesses. For myself, I will begin investigating other rental opportunities, as I don't want get thrown out on the spot for an open container too close to the future playground or putt--putt course.
I understand that they want to make a destination of the campground to increase weekly rentals, but they are alienating their core value stream of being right next to AOAA. Next time you're on the trails, take a look at the people on the trails; hint: mostly males.

 

I can't help you with triggering. FWIW, a different replacement term would be 'detrimental', or perhaps 'adverse'.

 

From what I read, the helmets are only required for SxS vehicles and dirt bikes, not OHVs. Every other roading place I've been or researched recently has had similar rules or restrictions, same with making sure you have at least two vehicles on a trail for safety reasons.

I don't trigger. Using pejoratives like the r-word, f-word, or n-word is just patently offensive to a LOT of people. You may not necessarily realize it or mean it that way, but that's how it comes across. Sure, it's different to use it to say something was slowed, like brake retarders, because that's what the word means. It fosters shit like THIS, which happened in the neighborhood I lived in at the time, and frankly I'm tired of seeing that.

I'm not here to be a preachy snowflake or get all up in your stuff or anything, but as they say in the Army, "The deficiency that goes uncorrected becomes the standard." People see that sort of thing and continue it thinking it's acceptable, and that promotes the sort of culture that inspires the brutal assault I linked above.
