yah I am starting to feel that Overland Tune would be pretty scooby. But same as you… keep finding other things to spend $600 on.

I am on the fence... if I do it, I will most likely do the install myself. That means a bit more investment.

Enter your info here and it will tell you what Toyota recommends. Of course the dealer will suggest lots of others for extra cash out of your wallet.

Perfect so … let’s look at a bunch of stuff that will be just fine. Change the oil and… that’s it.

I think I have got this one.

If you have a ‘21 TRD OR running the stock 16’s because you don’t mind them.
But you have a 2.5” lift and want to run the biggest tire .. w/o needing a CMC or any other things (ps I do have Dirt King UCA’s).

I seem to recall a post on TW but of course… when I need it… I can’t find it.

I have 265/70R17's on a +5 offset rim with a 2" lift with Terrain Tamer UCA's. I have cut the mudflaps and I still rub on the left side when backing up. That is on a 1/2 tall diameter tire over stock. The offset makes a difference too. I might not rub with the factory +30 offset rims, but the TRD Pro wheels are +4 so... Toyota really didn't want big tires on these trucks!

I have a 21 OR with a TRD lift and run 255/85 on the TRD beadlocks (10 mm offset). The stock OR wheels are 25 mm offset and should have similar results.

Well I changed my mind. Ordered some
    method 305 double Blacks.
    I think I’m going to slap 265/75/16’s.
Anyone got thoughts on P vs LT?

I have P’s now. Wildpeaks at that. But now I’m carrying RTT, Awning 100% of the time. The. We add 800lbs of people and animals for trips.

Access and FS roads are the extend. And a bit of and dunes. I have aired down once in my life. lol.

Just looking at a 265/70R17 in SL and LT... (Toyo AT III ) the SL has a weigh capacity of 2679lbs per tire (10,716lbs total). The LT has a rating of 3195/2910lbs per tire ( 12,780/11,640lbs total). Yes the LT has more capacity but it is at a rated psi. The SL is 44psi where the LT is at 80psi. Now the tire pressure is already adjusted for GVRW as seen on you door sticker for SL tires. So the max pressure isn't needed but it shows the difference of pressure needed to switch to an LT tire. has a calculator that will calculate the needed pressures needed to maintain the weight capacity of the new tires. As an example I entered the above tires into the calculator and used 29psi as the stock pressure for the SL tires. The LT tires need 41psi to meet that capacity of the SL tires. This will affect everyday driving by being a firmer ride. And only for a 2064 lbs increase in capacity when the tire is inflated to rated pressures.

I stayed with SL's. I would suggest putting your truck on a scale and see if you really need LT tires. I don't think anyone on this forum does. Unless they have a huge camper in the bed.

Some sizes are only available in an LT so the SL / LT debate is mute at that point.

This is why I like you. That’s a good solid comparison of enough data that tells me I should save 320$. Which is almost an entire tire.
