Ya but does your brand new truck do this on startup? My truck starts fine now and maybe it was bad gas or who knows. I say drive your truck and see what happens. I’ve learned to just wait things out when you’re not going to cause any harm to your vehicle.

My 22 does that weird idle sometimes at stoplights. Nothing shakes, but definitely idles low at 500rpms sometimes. No noises and doesn't do it everyday. Currently have 12,xxx miles

I have this same experience with my 2020 but my father with his 2020 (his is 1 week older than mine) doesn't do it. I took it to my dealership and they told me it was normal and that all of them do it. I said no they don't, but they didn't care and wouldn't do anything for it.

Most dealers lie, I literally do not go into my dealers service department anymore as I’ve had so many issues. Unless it’s major, I fix it myself.

my 23 had 600 miles on it and sometimes feels like a skip or a miss at idle sometimes..... does it bother me? no i look for a check engine light when it happens but nothing so i guess thats just how she is
i feel like the EPA crackdown on economy standards these old school tech trucks get worse and worse

No CEL then no worries until warranty goes out but even then how bad could it get

Ummm, just like a modern engine shouldn’t sound like it’s going to launch a rod thru the side of the block at idle? This ain’t 1964.

I recently purchased a 2023 tacoma as well, but during the test drive, I didn't notice any issues with a rough idle. However, now that I've been driving it more, I've noticed that my car has a similar problem to yours and it's quite frustrating. I've taken my vehicle back to the dealership several times and they've compared it to other 2023 models, all of which seem to have a rough idle in drive. The service department has givin me the "this is how Toyotas are"

The dealership has submitted a report of my complaint to corporate engineers to investigate if there are other complaints of this issue. I was wondering if you had also reported the issue to the dealership, so we can have multiple complaints and hopefully a resolution.

There is one other thing I have noticed as well that is super annoying to me. If you have 3/4 or more of fuel in the tank you can feel the fuel slosh and hit the back of the truck. The first time this happen I though someone had bumped into me. I've never felt fuel slosh back and forth in a vehicle before, they should have done baffles in the tank or something.

I noticed my 2023 TRD SPORT DC with a rough idle today sitting at a red light and I could feel it in the steering wheel. It’s never done this before with 7K on the odometer. It could be bad gas but I’m interested if you have found out what’s causing the rough idle?

The "diesel" mode I can hear it when I first start the truck but not while stopped at a red light in drive. No vibrations either, doesn't sound normal to me. Even at the initial idle there shouldn't be any vibrations

My 23 is smooth when stopped at a light in D. Sometimes I notice the AC compressor affecting idle, but that's about it.

Yeah I went out and checked mine again it seems to idle a little rough when the ac compressor cycles otherwise it’s smooth in drive. I’m going to put a few more miles on it then if it gets worse have the compressor checked out might be a bad one.

My '21 does it. 36,000 miles and it's done it pretty much since new. Seems to be worse now though. I too wondered if it was just the compressor/fan clutch etc... but either way it's not normal. My Tundra (5.7 V8) didn't do it. Neither did the ford I had before that (non-eco 3.5L v6) I can understand the idle changing when it (a/c) kicks on but there should not be this bad of a shutter.

This message is MudSpike01, did you find out what is causing the rough idle? My 2023 is doing the same thing. Thanks for any info you can provide!

my 23 with 3500 miles does not do this. When the engine is warm and sitting at a stop light in drive , I can sort of feel the truck idling but it's not rough enough to worry about. My 2nd gen did this as well.

Most direct injected vehicles I have driven have some sort of engine vibe at idle.
