Looking at purchasing these, anyone have them? Opinions?

    https://greenlaneoffroad.com/3rd-gen-toyota-tacoma/tacoma-bed-stiffener-bracket-set

I know they are a little pricy compared to some but wondering how much of a difference the backing plate makes? I also notice that it only has two bolts on the sides and others have mostly 4. I like to overanalyze things before I purchase and am just wondering about their strength compared to others.

"Backing plate" consists of a piece of flat stock with 2 holes in it.

You're better off getting a cheaper set and just making your own "backing plate" for a lot less money.

Will say the fact that it's stainless does add a bit to the cost; others are mild steel. Stainless is harder.

Oh there will be some mods all right
People will naturally be biased to recommend whichever ones they purchased, my own personal opinion is any of the stiffeners that go all the way to the top of the bed are the way to go. The two off-hand that I can think of are All Pro and Total chaos. I have the All Pro and I'm extremely satisfied with them.

Countless threads on the many options of these. I agree that people will be biased toward what they have.

having had both caliraised and now 4wp. I wish I went 4wp from the beginning.

The 4wp ones don’t obstruct the bed at all and the fit and finish is amazing.

Probably due to the smaller footprint, since its mostly internal

You can make your own backer. You can also just buy the one you like the look of the best. That's fine too. It's your truck/$. I got the total chaos because well, I got it from someone here for *in my mind* a good deal

Edit: For me, the TCs keep like a table of mine more securely placed under my waterport so its all user need based - of which looks is one :)

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I tried to purchase a set from 4WP. I even have the order confirmation number.

I also have tried many times to get a status update. Nothing, the phone number goes to voice jail. They do not respond to e-mail inquiry.

They still send me e-mail notices of special offers though, but.. I'm not a happy camper .

    Bed stiffeners! Bah! Humbug!

I think the 4wp ones were discontinued. I'm not sure why. I went to purchase them a few weeks back and they are no longer sold on the site.

Try contacting a brick and mortar store. When mine got delayed on my first attempt at purchase I called my local 4wp and the manager was able to help me out with cancellation.

No stores within 100 miles. (according to their store locator and my zip) NJ is not my idea of a good drive.

    eta

I found it odd that the on line order went through.

Dumb move discontinuing them. Someone needs to steal the exact design.
