Here was a nice surprise. Found these during a quick trip through Target.
    20230727_165454.jpg

I nearly bought one, but decided against it. Maybe next time...

Though this arrived today in the mail.

And this brand also features an anti-colision beacon, something usually found in 1/200 scale. Normally in 1/400, these are printed on.

Signed as well by Grumpy Jenkins would be an added plus. Bill died 3/29/2012. Check the manufactures date on these to verify. I got mine around 2014-15. I say this not to discourage. I recently sold over 300 Nascar autographs that I had collected, and you would not believe the number of people saying yeh right. I had a friend who was a reporter that covered the Nascar races, and I knew 2 transporter drivers. The one drove for Terry Labonte and the other drove for Bobby Bowsher / Joe Ruttman. I was always being asked who I was looking for when I used to be into it. So many people thought I was forging them. I think you really got lucky on that one.

Nice that it’s signed but I don’t think anyone would believe it without any kind of proof. I’ll hang on to these because they are pretty cool. One of the other boxes has a signature on it. Haven’t opened it yet to see what car it is or if the car is signed as well.

A pair of 33 Willy's coupes and a 40 Ford panel Muscle Machines. Also a 1/18 scale 55-57 Chevrolet 3100 Cameo. When I was in high school my buddies with the junkyard had a Cameo they were trying to save. The bed was all that was left of the poor rusted out truck they had. The bed sides were fiberglass.512023 hot wheels 045.jpg 512023 hot wheels 048.jpg 512023 hot wheels 051.jpg 512023 hot wheels 055.jpg 512023 hot wheels 057.jpg 512023 hot wheels 058.jpg

After going to Hobby Lobby in Stow and finding zilch I went into the Dollar Tree next door which will sometimes surprise you. As I walked up to the display it was packed and on the floor were 4 boxes of Hot Wheels. Thinking I just walked into something good I got all excited and hit the display first. Damn, there was nothing I was looking for. I looked around and saw no employees except at the registers and said hell with it I'm gonna bust open these cases. The first one was upside down and when I flipped it over cars started falling out because someone had already opened it. Same for the other 3 boxes. Somebody picked them before I got the chance. I left with my money still in my wallet. It's pretty bad having money to spend and nothing to buy. The Randolph summer swap meet is tomorrow. I went to the spring meet, and it was a complete waste so I don't expect much better.

A couple old front engine rail dragsters. These separated the men from the boys in vintage drag racing. The driver sits directly behind a alky blown hemi with exhaust headers belching flames by his head while the driver is seated inches away between 2 smoking slicks and his legs straddling the rear end. What could go wrong?
Last week end Al Zukauskas who drives the "Sling Blade" jet dragster was killed here at Quaker City after his jet engine rail hit the wall at over 200MPH. I'm glad I wasn't there that weekend. These guys love what they do.
White Daytona Charger and lime green Hot Wheels Mazda RX7 with wheel swap. Happy with results.512023 hot wheels 062.jpg 512023 hot wheels 066.jpg 512023 hot wheels 105.jpg

A rare whiff on a purchase for me.

This is the GMP 1986 Buick Grand National which came out in the early 2000s and I really wanted one back then. Since they retailed at $79.99 when I was buying Maistos at $9.99 and even AutoArts were only $59.99, this was unobtainium for a broke high schooler. A late night eBay session meant I shot an offer which was accepted. I shouldn't have spent any money and was kinda regretting the purchase even before I received the car.

Unfortunately the car is underwhelming. The box was missing the styrofoam clamshell and window sticker and it's got a fair bit of paint rash. It's not enough to warrant returning the car as the price was low enough to be okay for me, but it was disappointing to be like "I'm not psyched about this purchase" and then have it come in in worse shape than I hoped. The seller claims he might have the packaging, so we will see what happens.

I'm also disappointed in myself that I didn't notice that the 1986 version does not feature opening doors. The 1987 GNX version does, so I assumed all of them do, but they do not. It doesn't necessarily matter to me, but I'm a bit bummed out. I may ultimately find either a 1987 Grand National or another 1986 in better shape then move this along.
