So, while removing the crush cans and the lower bolts for the eventual install of the ARB bumper, the tack welded nuts broke loose from inside the frame. I had soaked everything good with penetrating oil so I suppose they were just that rusted. I was able to create enough pressure to fully remove the front bolt and the nut is now sitting inside the frame and the front bottom bolt is as you see it, I can't hold the nut to remove.

Probably will use a cutoff wheel to remove that last bolt but I need suggests for installing the ARB bumper now that two of the bolts don't have tack welded nuts...

    Thank you freaking rust!

Cut that front piece off and weld on a new plate with nut welded to the back.

I'm certainly leaning that way, but hoping to get a creative way of solving this issue.

I have used a threaded handle. This is a zink coated cast iron 3/8 16 I used for busted skid weld nuts.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
They make weld nuts which work just great .

When welded in they will be flush and as strong as your welds .

I use them all the time . I get mine from Mc Master-Carr

One problem I can see as long as your never going to remove the nut it will be fine.

once the tension is off the stud what keeps it from spinning inside the frame .

If the male threads are damaged to the point of not being salvaged . Knock it into the frame and replace?

I'd cut off the factory end caps to give access to the frame and re-weld on the old weld nuts. You can then replace the factory end caps with something thicker than won't fail like the factory ones are prone to. See this thread for details.

Yeah I think if it starts spinning then yeah, I'm weighing this vs going to my welder.

Great thread, thanks! Looks like I will fab and weld something.

I had the same issue when I went to throw the allpro front bumper on. I ended up cutting out section around those 2 weld nuts. Welded new nuts on then painted and welded back in. Bit of a pain in the ass, but at the end of the day it had to be done.
