How do people continue to drain their transmission fluid, and add an extra 6 quarts of oil.

Is the removal of the oil filter not enough of a sign that says "there's still oil in the vehicle" or what?

And the reddish colored fluid isn't obvious enough?

 

You want to really throw people for a loop have them start putting Kendall brand motor oil in. It's red

 

I just don't get how someone can think the engine goes that far back, I mean I guess if you literally knew nothing about vehicles but then I'd assume you'd have at least looked up some how-to videos or something. Its mind boggling how often that happens

 

Is that a 5spd one? I vaguely recall you talking about a manual f150 a little while back

 

Yup, has the Mazda HD 5-speed in it. Actually despite the misfire it doesn't drive too bad, clutch just grab really high which I'm not used too.

 

Fuck here I was thinking of that mystery oil stuff that's red (it's just an additive) but full reddish oil, 2nd Genners gonna lose their mind

 

Worst part?

Apparently he had already done oil changes on that thing.

 

I can only assume he was drunk at the time then, because that literally makes zero sense lol

 

Fully sober; he was at the auto parts store where apparently he changed said oil

Then drove off with no transmission fluid

 

Does. Not. Compute.

 

Then again I've never owned an auto that I've changed oil on, so maybe it's easier to make that mistake there idk.

Well, nvm actually because I change oil on Rebecca's RAV4, but it's fwd. I would think it'd be easier to make that mistake on a fwd though.

Like how are these people looking past the front diff and going straight for the transmission when making this mistake lol

 

V8? I don't remember my dad's being especially peppy for a V8 but it was the extended cab with slush box. That reg cab will probably scoot with the 5spd...well without the misfire I mean

 

Front diff is completely different than that of the transmission or oil; that's assuming the front diff plugs weren't replaced with those on my signature but even then it's super easy to differentiate a diff from an oil pan

 

I just feel like if you were going to mistake the engine drain for anything up front it would be the front diff and not the transmission under the center of the vehicle, but I'm also trying to make sense of something completely nonsensical so

 

Nah its the 4.2L V6, but surprisingly it's only 15hp different than the base V8... So shouldn't be awful

 

I mean...there'd be bigger issues if he removed the transmission drain plug and, motor oil drained from it

 

It honestly wouldn't surprise me in these cases

 

I mean, we got oil drain plugs with clutch material here so anything's possible
