I think 100 F isn’t good for the permafrost.. Just saw in the news some worms or something like that defrosted and came alive after being frozen in permafrost for over 40,000 years…

Havent and won't look. I really try not to let work creep into my personal time. It's a job for me, I enjoy it but I draw a hard line...

 

Ya doing the wheel bearings on the tacoma...not so bad with the press tool.
This load of logs will buil a rough cut stick frame small barn..and maybe a couple other small projects.
Canned copper river reds. The lady in the chair is my wife. Her and the neighbor go dip netting on the copper every year. They caught 125 this year. Our take was 35 fish. We smoked and canned about 15lbs and froze the rest.
Its been a mostly wet summer aside from some really hot dry stretches. It hit 100(yes very humid) here on the property about a week ago..they said it was 85 in town.
The teeth. I broke my upper right back moler(dark spot) and the opposite had a crack. They were yanked by a real dentist lol. Yook 2 weeks to heal and im still dealing with some irritation. A big chunk of bone came off when pulling the cracked tooth. I felt like i had the flu when recovering.
Lots more to the tooth story...dad was my driver and he took me to the pawn shop all drugged up after...I spent 100 bucks!..dont remember any of it. At least i bought some worth while stuff in my daze...couple 5ah batteries for my dewalt stuff.

Alright guys, I'm back with the final project for my son's wedding. The bride, instead of a guest book, wanted a board that everyone could sign and, they put it on the wall forever.
I thought that was pretty easy, so I made it harder.
Used curly maple for this so...pretty wood! Expensive wood.
Anyway I am posting pics, this group will see my name but I think I'm safe lol.
Why I did what I did...
You see, I think every family is an island. Some big, some little, some crowded, some with nice toys, etc. I also think you still belong to your parent's island until you get married or some life changing event. So, they will be getting their own island and everyone will sign (est 200 names) and that is that. Best way to represent the island? An make it a simple board to sign with an ultra fine Sharpie?
Remember this is all hand carved and freehand work. No stencils, router tables or sleds. Just the death wheel and a DA sander. Tell me your thoughts...

 

After everyone has signed will you put a clear finish over it to protect the ink?

 

Yep! Everyone will contribute to the art, I will polyurethane, wet sand, polyurethane, wet sand, polyurethane and all signatures will be forever preserved!
