Son had a 4x4 toy when he was a kid and if a wheel lost traction claws would extend out of tires and retract when traction returned. Sounds like a great idea for real trucks.

Ha ha I remember those! That would be awesome to have traction like that. Mud and snow wouldn’t be an issue.

I had a girlfriend like that!

I used to think there was more ground pressure with skinny’s because of a smaller patch but after seeing the video I’m not sure, my concern is driving over sharp rocks. I thought wider ones would have less pressure on each rock as I thought they’re spread out, but maybe I was wrong.

For shoe research, they use a special pad that actually measures the force that each part of the foot is pressing down on the ground, that would be great if someone can do that with tires.

Been running skinny for three years now and I will never go back. Just ordered a new set of 255/75/17.

His video made me want skinnies. I'd love to save the weight. However, the neanderthal in me just wants fat boys for esthetics.

    "Pizza Cutters vs Wide Tires"

In the context of TW talk usually means 285's vs. 255's.

The difference is a 1/2" of width. Function-wise it is going to make diddly squat of a difference for the most part. Mounting and maybe aesthetics is where the real difference lies.

I should have aired them down more on Saturday. The trail tore up my tires with big chunking...

I will have the new Wildpeak AT4W 255/85r16’s to mount next week. Excited about a C load range all terrain in that size. I will take pics

I love his video and I owe my modification journey to him. However, I could not bring myself to go thin. I wanted wide stance no matter what the cutting involved or performance specs, so I caved on a 95% street driver.
Now if I already did the work and $ for long travel wide and not a daily driver, perhaps it would be a different story.

A 255/75R16 interests me. It would be small bump in diameter over stock + the benefits of skinny. But this size does not seem to be available.
