Who does that? Guess I live in a bubble. Think they needed them for their truck or will they show up on Craigslist/eBay/Facebook/WTFever?

Atleast they didn’t steal your catalytic converter. Still sucks though. I don’t like to use the word hate because it projects ignorance but I’ll use it for thieves. They suck

Peculiar story/situation. I went to Discount Tire in Renton, Washington having called ahead to order five P265/70/R16 tires. Didn't feel I needed anything more robust. But wanted to upsize a tad from the smaller stock tires that came with the truck. Heck, with gas so affordable nowadays...why not GO BIGGER? Arrived at store and read a good book for an hour or so until informed my 2022 Access Cab was ready to drive away. Went outside and told the crew how overjoyed I was with the look, and future function I knew I could expect from this tire. On the drive home I was impressed with the handling and ZERO noise. No, I did not have the stereo on nor were my windows open allowing air to cancel any tire noise. The ride was smooth the 12 miles or so home. Got out of the vehicle and realized- damn that truck has some nice new boots on it now!

To say that I am excited and looking forward to heading over the passes to the Lake Wenatchee area and driving some back roads, as well, go on a backpacking trip in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness for 3 days is an under statement. Now I'll get a chance to see what my $$$ just bought me.

However, two hours after arriving home my cell rings and it's the service manager at Discount profusely apologetic informing me how his crew had screwed up and put the wrong tires on the truck. Huh?

He tells me I have LT265/75R16's. Load range E, 123/120Q something. I played dumb and ignorant knowing full well that what I had was a better ($$$) truck tire than that which I had ordered. I told the manager that these "LOOKED" just fine and that if it was ok with him I'd just as soon not drive back and wait another hour for the swap. His response made it seem as if he was relieved by my request to keep the tires he put on since he immediately explained that it was THEIR mistake and that if I liked the tires I could keep them. No issues at all. Hm, I'm not the brightest guy in King County but it seemed a NO BRAINER! Especially since I tow a trailer full of firewood a few times per year to heat a cabin. Ah, well, I'll keep what you put on Mr. Service Manger. Thank you. Have a nice day Sir.

What's more, he had also purchased all 5 of my stock tires that only had 16,000 miles on them, the spare never having been used with no miles on it. One thing I'll say about Discount Tire...they deliver! GO BIG or GO HOME! So long Les Schwab-greetings and salutations-Discount Tire!

    Bummer.

Why are your front hubs rusty? They look different than the hubs on my truck (mine are exposed all the time). Maybe you have a 2WD?

Installed the Meso door handle covers and Rav4 mirrors that I bought of @Roadkill1081 .
Replacing those mirrors made me nervous, but all turned out well.

I am sorry that happen to you. Check with the insurance company and tell them your truck is unsafe to drive due to the taillight being broken and they may help you quicker with the repair.
I just got mine back from the Bodyshop and the driver who hit me tried to leave the scene of the accident till I encouraged him that would be a big mistake. So then he gave false information to the state police. I am happy to have my truck back and now I am going after diminished Value for my truck.

You've had the Billie Bars tailgate cover for over a year now. What are your thoughts? How is the padding holding up? Do you think it is worth the $300 price tag plus $50 shipping? Have you ever cooked on with with a propane stove?

I am torn between the Billie Bars because it is not much more than say the Mountain Hatch, but if I look at a budget option like the Hooke Offroad version at $150 (includes shipping), it is hard to justify to extra another $200 for padding.

    What is your verdict?

Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely give it a try. Thanks for the warning too, sounds more like a good idea to me though lol.

Busy day on the Taco. First thing I did was wire up a cheap fog light kit since some how my SR5 didn’t come with them installed. Planning on upgrading from the crappy ones but k spent a good amount of time on cable management and it’s good to go.

then my bumper plugs showed up so I put those in. Finally no more license plate holes in my front bumper!

Next up on my to do list was to start cleaning the engine bay and undercarriage. Guessing the previous owner only drove on dirt roads…I spent a good 3 hours cleaning everything by hand because I’m too scared to soak the whole bay.

After getting the engine bay nearly new, I popped the skid plate off and started wet sanding and prepping it for paint. Painting jt silver to match my silver truck. I’m currently waiting for the second coat to dry as I’m typing this. Think I’ll tackle the massive amounts of dirt and dust that was hiding behind the skid plate tomorrow, I’m beat.

Extra credit: I also got a new fridge today somewhere in the middle of all that and decided i wasn’t going to ask anyone for help. Fridge made it home safe but that was a sketchy unloading haha

That’s awesome. Very well played on your part. That’s the same size and load rating tire that I run. I’ve put a ton of highway miles on my E rated tires and I don’t understand why everyone thinks they’re so harsh.

I’m curious, what tires did you order and what did the actually put on your truck?
