I am sorry that happen to you. Check with the insurance company and tell them your truck is unsafe to drive due to the taillight being broken and they may help you quicker with the repair.
I just got mine back from the Bodyshop and the driver who hit me tried to leave the scene of the accident till I encouraged him that would be a big mistake. So then he gave false information to the state police. I am happy to have my truck back and now I am going after diminished Value for my truck.

You've had the Billie Bars tailgate cover for over a year now. What are your thoughts? How is the padding holding up? Do you think it is worth the $300 price tag plus $50 shipping? Have you ever cooked on with with a propane stove?

I am torn between the Billie Bars because it is not much more than say the Mountain Hatch, but if I look at a budget option like the Hooke Offroad version at $150 (includes shipping), it is hard to justify to extra another $200 for padding.

    What is your verdict?

Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely give it a try. Thanks for the warning too, sounds more like a good idea to me though lol.

Busy day on the Taco. First thing I did was wire up a cheap fog light kit since some how my SR5 didn’t come with them installed. Planning on upgrading from the crappy ones but k spent a good amount of time on cable management and it’s good to go.

then my bumper plugs showed up so I put those in. Finally no more license plate holes in my front bumper!

Next up on my to do list was to start cleaning the engine bay and undercarriage. Guessing the previous owner only drove on dirt roads…I spent a good 3 hours cleaning everything by hand because I’m too scared to soak the whole bay.

After getting the engine bay nearly new, I popped the skid plate off and started wet sanding and prepping it for paint. Painting jt silver to match my silver truck. I’m currently waiting for the second coat to dry as I’m typing this. Think I’ll tackle the massive amounts of dirt and dust that was hiding behind the skid plate tomorrow, I’m beat.

Extra credit: I also got a new fridge today somewhere in the middle of all that and decided i wasn’t going to ask anyone for help. Fridge made it home safe but that was a sketchy unloading haha

That’s awesome. Very well played on your part. That’s the same size and load rating tire that I run. I’ve put a ton of highway miles on my E rated tires and I don’t understand why everyone thinks they’re so harsh.

I’m curious, what tires did you order and what did the actually put on your truck?

It’s held up great. I have cooked on it, used it as a bench to do work, slid lots of heavy stuff off it. Not a single flaw from all the abuse, I am actually surprised haha. Well worth it buddy.

I ordered P265/70R16's. Thought I mentioned that in the original post. Oops if I didn't. Sorry.

At the risk of repeating myself. Those new LT's are exceptionally quiet. Now, that is not to say that in 3-5,000 miles the noise will not become noticeable. Perhaps the first few thousand miles of tread on those Ultra-terrain AT tires is a VERY soft compound that provides the quiet-smooth ride. Initially. I admit my ignorance here. I really don't know, but sure don't mind learning and finding out either!

Not the OP. Here are 2 other options to consider.

Yep I saw that in the first post, I meant what tire? Like Cooper, Toyo, etc… I’m guessing it was wrangler ultra terrains! Lol

Found a video on how to check driveshaft angles and pulled up some measurements after removing cb spacer.
If you can read my chicken scratches, I'd say it's damn close now.
