I just got this leer 122 used and in great condition. I had planned on using the raptor liner kit for it but the seller semi convinced me that it wasn't a good idea because of the condition of the red paint being good. He also had the cap on a gray tacoma and didn't mind the mismatch, but I don't think it's growing on me.

I thought about wrapping myself but I don't have a garage and it looks like something I'd be terrible at anyway.

I called about 10 tinting, wrapping, detail shops and only 1 said they would do it, but wanted me to come in before he gave me even a ballpark quote.

    Any opinions??

What do you have to loose by rattle can painting it yourself?
I’m mean, worst care it turns out “ugly”. And you’re back to wrapping it?

I mean rattle can painting wasn't one of my options. It's more reversible than raptor lining I suppose, but at that point kills the value. I guess the question I need to ask myself is do I care about resale value. A bad rattle can paint job probably hurts the value as much as raptor lining

If you’re worried about value, pay a pro to paint it. Or wrap it.

Always plasti dip spray it. Can peel off if you don’t like it

Yep easy enough to buy a can and test. Then decide.

    White. And truck roof.

Cheap but good. Can be regular white. Doesn't have to be.
Can be using a kit from Durabak or something; automotive body version of rhino liner that should not be as thick, and have the option of non-textured as well.
White shells look good, are classic, more of a universal color match, and reject heat better.

Black would probably blend with the truck but it's not gonna reject heat as well
Or sell it and later find what you want

    Line-X it,
It’ll add insulation and sound deadening. Not to mention it’ll be tougher all around.

White is a good idea. I'd go plastidip or another alternate brand. If it turns out poorly, peel it or powerwash it off. Raptor liner and aerosol paint will destroy resale value.

not bedliner. Smooth liner like durabak. Cheaper than paint. A white respray is cheap too.
Not gonna destroy value. They’ll either run it white or repaint. Shell not color matching comes with the territory of buying used.

Gonna try gloss white vinyl wrap my cab roof when I measure it if I can find the right size roll from 3M; I hear it’s more forgiving to new users than Vvivid.
After somehow wet sanding the roof smooth 2000 grit likely with a bucket of soapy water and sprayer, before washing it, then wax to add some smoothness.

Or sell the shell and wait to buy one that matches more.
I can’t find anyone to trade my regular height for a mid or high rise. Looking at selling it for now and run open bed until finding one of those.
