Finally got around to installing the DD C14 hitchpod on my 2nd Gen. Unfortunately it’s not plug and play for our trucks.

Cut my OEM HITCH PLUG, purchased a USCAR plug with leads. Couldn’t use my tow plug on my bumper anyways, converting to the 3rd Gen tow plug. Bolts right up to my steel bumper. I really didn’t want to cut the DD harness up lol.

Jack up both your tires on the front and put something long like a jack handle or pry bar to pry under them. Press the tire up and see if you have movement/clicking from your ball joints as you move the tire up and down.

I want to replace the bushings and balljoints on my 07 but I want a set of arms I can replace everything in and just swap.

might do ball joints this week with our hunting season starting and then do everything right in the next couple of weeks.

how do you like the Luno?
I placed 4” foam diagonal and cut
To fit me and gear in the spaces
but it’s annoying that it doesn’t have a fabric cover

    IMG_5639.jpg

this is what I ordered. I’d rather find all black and return though.
If I face silver outside it’s obvious. Even with tint still visible.
    Silver facing inwards looks tacky

don’t want to go through the hassle of putting fabric or paint and potential offgas sing of adhesive and paint

So far I can’t find both sides black. I’m gonna look up what temp regular paint can handle and see if there’s anything flexible to crack less
Like rubberized coating, plastidip, flex seal

ideally in a can to roll or brush on. So I can put a thick coat or two carefully, hit the surface well, and not deal with overspray and fumes that happens with cans.

Supercharger installed, but had to relocate the Controller Box to passenger side for ease of access to the Intercooler Reservoir

    read build thread
    2/10 difficulty

its 2 screws and 4 push tab things to remove it from your truck, then on the back of the grill you have to remove it from the surround, its about a dozen screws and a dozen tabs to unhook, the best way to do the tabs is to have 2 pairs of needle pliers and pull both ends towards you and they will unsnap alot easier once the first one is done. you will also have to remove and transfer the rubber seal off your old grill, it comes off with another dozen plastic tabs, just squeeze the bottom with the pliers and pull up then press them into your new grill. same with the tabs, just press the new grill on and it all snaps in then replace the screws. it all went in very easy with no issues, but thats one reason I opted for the oem grill because I knew it would be hand in glove fitment, if you get the cheaper aftermarket it may not be exact in some spots, at least thats my usual experience with aftermarket body parts. hope that helps!

I fried my alternator by power washing and not protecting it or drying it out.

I love them! No issues at all. Have done some light off-roading and still no rubbing. Time will still tell, but I’m happy.

    I hope not
so far so good. Time will tell. Miles are high anyway.

Pro shop policy is engines do get washed when needed, though avoiding direct spraying at alternator.

Drying I think is either gonna be sitting parked to drip and evaporate
or driving with engine heat to help
Been over a day. Even without wash, alternator pulley probably wearing, brushes, etc.

I have basically the same setup.
    IMG_5670.jpg

the warfab comes with 3rd gen tow plug holder so it required converting.

that being said DD told me to get a different model C1. I think 4runner 5G.
    It plugged right in.
    DD tapped off right tail.
Planning to tap left tail for shell.
Manual toggle on switch doesn’t actually toggle them on so I need to figure that out. It only puts the tails in reverse themselves which aren’t bright.

    only things I would change:
-if I add a swingout, it will block corner pocket(s) necessitating the need to switch to closer center mounted 2” like you have
-my center is C1R strobe and brake which I like better and came out after. I’d rather have R/brake on the sides too but would require switching. Which if I go 2” later I don’t think they offer that in ‘R’ at least listed under Tacoma. Yet…

Looks REAL GOOD! We have made a few C1R pnp harnesses for the 2nd Gen Tacos, but it is always handy to be able to do it yourself!
