What is a good route to go about lifting my 3rd Gen Tacoma 2017 2wd? I have been looking around YouTube and here to figure out what I should go with, but keep ending up at the end of a rabbit hole with no luck. Maybe I'm slow or something, but any help/ ideas please let me know! other than that, ya'll have a great day and keep on keepin on!

I guess another question that pops up into mind now would be if I do coil over set, would i need to add any leaf springs?

    We need goals and budget.

There's spindle lifts for 2WD tacomas, they are quite big.

If you want to bomb along service roads a proper coil over set would be a good idea.

Simple cheap spacer lifts work but don't drive as well as the other choices.

Typically by now your rear springs have worn and sagged, so adding a curved new spring will only cause a temporary lift, so most replace the rear spring with an Icon or Dever set, or just simply add a 1" block for simplicity, with longer rear shocks.

If you want a simple lift, read up on Bilstien 5100's for Tacoma's. They are the best budget lift and work with a simple rear lift.

I’ve been looking at those actually, was curious if I could even put them in a 2wd. If so I’m my sender is somewhat solved!

2WD and 4WD are identical for suspension, you are good to go!

It was the older tacomas with 5 lug nuts that had varying suspension. All 2005-2023 6 lugs effectively share the same bolt in suspension.

I'd say get 5100's and a rear 1" block, or if the rear springs have had it, get a new leaf pack with 1" lift.

Another thing to consider; are you planning to add weight, haul weight, or tow?
If so, at the least, I’d add a leaf, or better yet, a new leaf pack. If not, chuck a booth in there and roll on!

Bilstein 5100 in all four corners and a 1 inch block for the rear spring
Set the fronts Bilstein to the second notch. You won't be disappointed. ;)

Eventually I’m gonna but a hitch on trucky, probably wont haul heavy things, but I do have a tent on my truck so that just adds weight with all my camping gear in the truck.

2tons of pea gravel made my truck sag low though so hoping if I gotta do stuff like that again, it wont be as bad if I have a suspension lift.

If I end up doing bilstien 5100, do I need to
switch out my uca’s, and or ball joints? Still stock uca’s, but they look/feel fine.

No need to to change control arms or ball joints for just adding 5100's.
