If you are going to camp out in the desert with us you dont need the camping pass. The camping pass is for people who are staying in RVs down on the lake bed.

 

Not going to be able to make it.

 

Have a couple of questions about the event, it's the first time for me.

Can I tow a custom-made travel trailer(5x10) to the camp spot and make a base on it? I've built the flatbed trailer and planning to build a sleeping pod on top of it to be used for events like this. It's very tough and has pretty good clearance but regular tires(27 inches).

As I understand for the most part of the day(each day) we will be on foot somewhere on the track as spectators, right? How do we move from place to place? Do we use our vehicles or just walk around?

Is it really crowded after the last race? We need to be back before Monday.

 

I dont think you'd have an issue with a trailer that size.

The good spectator areas are miles apart so we'll have to drive it. If you're not comfortable driving up the hill at chocolate thunder I'll have an extra seat in my truck.

Make sure you bring a folding chair that will work in the sand.

The exodus on Sunday morning is a little slow for trailers but it's nothing like burning man. With your trailer you'll have to use the main road. People in trucks and UTVs will be using a bypass to the side of the main road to exit but some of the bumps are 3-4 feet deep and people won't be shy about passing you if you're going too slow.

We'll drive out the gas station on Thursday or Friday to gas up and get more ice/beer. All of the gas stations in the immediate vicinity will be packed on Sunday AM because a bunch of hung over guys with toy haulers will be fighting over the one diesel pump.

After all the rain the valley got backdoor is filled in. It's like 3 feet tall right now. I wish had enough free time to go drive it before it gets dug out again.

 

Really? That's crazy! That shit was, like, 8 ft tall.

 

I saw IG stories over the weekend of people doing it in stock SXS. I have some free time the first couple weeks of November if you guys have any interest in a desert trip somewhere.
