All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Fun fun fun. Which model duke you looking at. I am riding all day today. Starting out here shortly and will be taking the 890r to Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park. This is my second go in the single track with the new bike.
Overall I have been impressed. It is much easier to maneuver in the tight woods than the 1190 was, the weight being down low adds a lot of confidence when changing directions quickly.

I have been playing with different pressures from 28 when on the harder stuff (which is a bit dangerous considering how easily these rims sent) up to 36, on the tame roads.

There is a huge difference in compliance between the pressures I find. I think I am going to slap a tube in the front, don’t wanna find myself stranded in the backwoods tubeless style :/

Also still wanna ride on a T7 with upgraded forks. Someone on here posted their T7, I think it was their wife’s they were building.

    It was very nice!

It's a 2018 1290 Super duke R, all stock with low miles. Anything in particular I should look out for? What year was yours? And hope you have fun out there today!

Hope you recover quick man, that's no fun.

No ride for me this weekend either, getting the new rear tire put on Wednesday.

Semi-related motorcycle news, I also bought an OVS 270LTE awning (supposed to be released Aug 7) for my truck....been wanting one for so long but couldn't justify it until this weekend when I realized I'd want some form of shade when I go to the track or trails to ride the dirtbike. Probably could have made do with an EZ up or just a straight one off the back...but I want what I want

I have a 180* but has been a great and handy addition on MTB trips where you wanna sit and have a post-ride beer in the shade, etc.

Also is great for sheltering black dogs that insist on being sidekicks while you do yardwork in the blazing Utah sun:

Hell yeah. I considered a 180 but wanted some shade over the tailgate. the larger 270 would have been nice but I didn't really need the extra expense or the extra coverage. And the LTE is supposed to be mostly freestanding

I can run my 180 freestanding and primarily do. It was a little windy so the leg was nice to tension the system a little.

I wanted a 270, but the thing with awnings is that its all a game of angles, so rarely does it provide shade where you think it will unless you use the truck itself to sort of bodyblock a hangout spot, thus making the tailgate area relatively unprotected unless planned out ahead of time.

Yeah I figured as much as far as the angles aspect. the 270 just covers both the rear for dirtbike rides, and the side for camping simultaneously. don't need sides covered when I'm dirtbiking, don't need the rear covered most of the time when I'm camping lol.

Rode an FB6 DCT at the Long Beach moto show back in 2016.

My mind was BLOWN AWAY with how comfy, easy to ride, how nimble it was, how well it stopped and accelerated, how INSANELY SMOOTH it was... And the DCT was amazing.

I got on it with low expectations given such a heavy "old man bike" but whoa was I wrong... Oh soooo wrong.

If I was doing long distance, goldwing, fjr would be at the top of the list.

I had a gold wing gl1800 once. Took one test ride at an event and wow I was blown away with that bike, I ended up buying one. It was a dream on the road. I even road the dragon with it twice because it was so much fun. But I don't think I ever went above 3rd gear, lol.

Mine was the 2015 orange/black/white scheme. I love them, and even though the LC8 will burn your balls into oblivion. My 1290r duke wasn’t nearly as bad as my 1190r…who knows why.

2 tanks of gas and my ass is numb as hell.

Been standing up most of the day, to get my legs back into shape for a ride a hard enduro coming up.

Took a quick break next to this little creek. It’s been a good day, only had 1 idiot in a painting van ride my ass on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I let him pass, instead of being run over…and he almost lost it big time.
