Weather got pretty sporty last night. Had what must have been a lightning strike close enough to light up the backyard, make Mrs. SpruceMica scream, and trip the breaker for our well pump.

Rain guage said 2.5"

 

Had a microburst come through Ansonia last night. Had 2 trees come down at the in laws.

Got stormy and a small amount of rain but nothing too serious. It's real nice out there right now!

 

With all the rain lately the ground has to be saturated and tree roots loosing grip

Weather guy said July was the 4th most rainfall in a month since they started keeping records.

Ran the Nova already today. SBC loves low humidity and cool temps.

 

Mines been off for a while. But I am holding onto it in case I need to tow anything substantial. I tossed it back on for a week when I drove out to Chicago to pull a 6x12 uhaul trailer of my moms stuff down to Arkansas. I have it hanging in my basement using two big bike hanger hooks to keep it out of the way.

 

Yeah it was super close! How these 2 trees missed everything is beyond me lol. That would have sucked big time if they took out the camper - that wouldve put a big dent in the plans for the fall ha.

 

Progress. Slow, but it’s still progress.
Upper connector is for the OEM inverter and the lower connector is for mirror defrost.

 

Just finished detailing the dashboard. Waiting on detail brushes.

 

Was in Westchester today, bunch of tree carcasses scattered about. NW Fairfield county, nothing.

Made some good progress on the truck yesterday. Had to, it was just so nice out. This week looks to be nice also.
I have two wires to run from the cab to under the hood, one for fog lights and the other for the inverter. They will be going to relays once I find where to put them (I have an idea).

I hope everyone enjoyed that picture perfect weather on Sunday! The wife and I went out to the Canton area to check out Nepaug forest. She has gotten into foraging for mushrooms and berries, and apparently she found some of the more rare ones called "black trumpets". They look gross and I won't be partaking in them, but this is definitely a cooler hobby for her than playing video games all day! I tried to burn through a whole tank of premium yesterday, but I failed. Wallingford, Canton, Bristol, Wallingford, Haddam meadows for a dip in the river. Days like yesterday make me happy to live in Connecticut. I just wish I could have more days like that.

Tomorrow after work we are going to Lake Compounce. Tickets were half price to purchase last week and must be used before 6Aug. I have not been there since maybe 2008, or maybe earlier.
