I have been looking for an alternator that can support my sound system and all my off road lights. They don’t really make a high amperage alternator for the 1st gens. I was wondering if this 2.7 4 runner alternator would fit my 2.7 Tacoma-

    page says it’s for a 2.7L 4 runner

Best Answer contact the seller and ask!!

As long as your brackets are the same it should work. One can never go by the Generic online pictures .

Go to your favorite online parts vendor check part numbers between the 2 vehicles see if they are the same.

Not sure where you looked . Did you look just for plug and play ?

Just How much output do you need?

So many options out there you can go with .Search alternator upgrades.

I need at least 160 amps the toyota oem ones and the ones at auto parts only put out 60-70 amps. And I did look all over the websites either seemed sketchy or the ones they were selling didn’t put out enough amps. Brackets should be the same I mean it’s the same engine I just wanted to double check with other people cause Toyota changes a lot of things haha.

Also have to watch how the back case is clocked. Where the battery and alt. plug are in relation to yours. May need a longer or shorter belt. Could also find a rebuilder close to you and have him rebuild and put higher regulator and brushes and what not.
