This story told to me by one of my Duty Officers back in the day (1989ish). Controller teams were 2 person, one officer and one enlisted. His previous job was as an officer controller on a two officer team in missile silos out of Minot, ND. One of their sites was a 3 hr drive from base; on that drive there was a diner about half-way in this little town. Common practice was to stop for break, cup of coffee and slice of pie. Now these teams were carrying their "football" (missile codes) and it had to be with both controllers at ALL TIMES. One time they leave the diner, get about 5 mins down the road, then realize they left their "football" under the table at the diner. They rush back to the diner and the waitress had found it, and placed it in the little diner cash safe. Said "she knew it was important." From then on, they often referred to the two-man rule as "two waitress control."

one guy that retired in the 80’s was on his last day.
We started moving the shop clock back 5 min here and there.
So by 4:30 it read 3:00.
He was packing up stuff and never noticed.
We all locked our tool boxes and disappeared.
We hung outside until he realized everyone was gone. He was standing in the middle of the shop
    With no one anywhere.
    It was a riot..

I checked, just says “reclaimed corral board” so I guess you’d have to ask the rancher than built the corral what he used.

    Thanks for checking!

If I would decorate my house the way that I'd want it, it would look like it got plucked from somewhere in northern NM. It would never sell around here when I'm ready to cash out of it, so I need to make it "acceptable" with a pinch of that flavor mixed in. The next one will be the rancher style Hacienda.

Spent 3 hours at eviction court this morning. In the end, the tenant agreed basically to what we had requested. I get to keep the late rent they eventually paid. They move out by 9/31 and I don't have to pay them anything.
City has recently required landlords to pay $5000 or 2 months rent, whichever is more, when removing a tenant, even if the lease expires and simply don't want to renew with them. By giving them 2 months free, I save $2000.

I SAVE $2000 by letting the tenant stay rent free for 2 months :annoyed:
