I did actually, I did it this morning! I write the mileage on my filters and ended up only putting 2500 miles on Betty in the past 18 months thanks to trailering her everywhere. So I changed the oil due to age.

Lol! I hope the buyer isn’t thinking the same thing. I’m ready to sell so let’s hope he doesn’t change his mind in the next 12 hours.

You have to have some regrets selling a truck you put so much effort into?

Hope it works out for you though. Sometimes it’s time to move on.

Not really, not yet anyways. I had a lot of fun with it but it doesn’t bring me as much joy anymore so I’m ready to move onto the next thing. We’ll see if I’m singing that same tune a week from now. Part of it is that I’m distracting myself with another shiny new thing, aka a dirt bike which I should be picking up Saturday. Need to call the dealer tomorrow.

For me at least it's not so much regret as just remembering the good times I had in my rig. That said, I pushed that rig as far as I possibly could. It was time to move on. For @EatSleepTacos that moving on is going to be a bike and another hobby. For me it's going to be a solid axle that can keep up with what I need it to do in the rocks.

Before anybody mentions SAS a Toyo I thought about it a lot. Truth be told, there's just too many compromises that need to be made for the way our frames are.

    I understand the sentiment.

No one size fits all solution. We make decisions, some work out, some do not.

Sounds like you and @EatSleepTacos are at peace with selling your rigs. Lesson to be learned (for me, maybe others as well) from your ability to separate sentimental value and physical value.

This is honestly applicable to new parents too. In the earlier days I'd find myself looking back at childless me and all the freedom that came with it and how much fun that was. It's easy to get that confused with regret.

Also, betty white is pending sale even harder. Buyer came over this morning to shoot the shit some more and we're meeting at the bank as soon as they open at 9. She should be sold within the next 45 minutes.

I'm about to sell my 2005 with similar specs. If you could do it over again would you list for same price? I want to sell mine within a week to reduce number of lowball offers and tirekickers

I would do it the same again. I had a surprisingly low number of people who wasted my time, and not a single low ball offer, which is surprising for facebook. It took me 3 weeks to sell overall. Initially I wanted $17k, so I listed at $19k IIRC. I got no traction, and lowered it to $18k a week later. A week after that, $17k firm. After seeing the lack of interest, I accepted a $16k offer.

I get it though, the person who see's the value in this truck and the parts creates a very niche market.

Not a problem at all, and good luck with your sale.

Oh and in case anyone was curious, I still don't have a lick of regret. I miss it a little bit, but not that much. The bike is heaps of fun and our house in AZ doesn't really lend itself to a third vehicle, so it all worked out.

I contemplated the purchase at 19k until I saw the box wrenches used in the rear bumper. For that reason I was out.

The best part was that they weren’t even metric, but don’t tell the new owner that.
