All I can say so far is they are definitely beefy. Overkill also seems like a good word. I am very curious to see how they perform on the street. Zero play or slop in the joint, probably stronger than any other single bolt on the whole damn truck lol.

Spent the day loving up my truck... Started with an oil change-Yes I do... Amsoil Signature. On to some more serious monkeying around with WarFab and Marlin Crawler parts. Lots of overhead welding with a recalcitrant Miller today putting on the LCA stiffeners and such. I guess part of the problem was that the the 220 in my garage is only on a 20amp breaker. Despite the irritations, I got it done.

While I was under the I gave the half shafts a jiggle. The drivers side is ready, and I have almost all the parts. No one seems to talk about the passenger side, but it also had a significant amount of play at the box. What gives? Is there another bearing I don't know about?

From my experience CV axles often have a fair amount of play in them among different vehicles.

Agree with this, they have more play than you probably expect but usually it's normal. And I say probably because Pat has challeneged the limits of his more than most soooo there's that.

No boot which is the main thing I don't like, and the biggest curiosity how they will work with road salt. Only time will tell, I suppose. They are sealed on the top-side and machining is very toight so as long as I keep them well greased (and they do take normal grease, not tri-flow) it should be OK. Looks pretty easy to completely dissassemble. More maintenance as a trade-off for greater strength, fine by me.

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
that’s exactly what the video was trying to show. But the interesting thing is that the surface area of the contact patch was very close between both tires until he got down to bead lock pressures.
Keep in mind the 2 main tires he was testing were load range E. He did test his current load range C tire and the contact patch started growing sooner as the pressure dropped.

The big take away for me is that it has more to do with truck weight and tire construction than width.

Yeah it reminds me of those uniball designs which It sounds like our awful for our climate.

I've been pretty happy with the BDS upper control arms, and I finally got around to greasing them yesterday, lol! It definitely took a few pumps before the boots started to fill up.

Well @Thatbassguy you changing your transfer case oil spurred me into action. I just placed the order for the fluid so hopefully it gets here in time for my days off this week.

I have enjoyed staying out of the skinny discussion... however, this I know from experience. I have been stuck way less with skinny 33's than with "float" worthy 35's. I say do what makes you happy (and hedge your bets with a winch...)

Yea...BUT my 35s look so much better and get Instagram likes, so it's a toss-up.

Also, August's cover model in @Pixeltim's calendar is quite the looker...

Ohhh... completely forgot to tell you guys about my weekend. My wifes cousin, who works for Pelican was out for the week. Took him on a short wheeling jaunt. Might have some new Pelican Swag inbound...
