Got an offer for a $300 check from Toyota

That could be the MSRP, but on an invoice it may very well be $300.

Nobody reads the fine print anymore. Let alone understand the actual contract they sign.

 

Some people keep their window stickers, others toss them.

Then again, some buyers are methodical and have (or don't show) any attachment of any sort when negotiating. Others buy on emotion. And another group of buyers are influential.

There's a whole study on it from a psychological standpoint.

Of all the vehicles I've ever bought, I think I only kept 2 window stickers.

1 for one of my Corvettes, cause I bought it for myself as a Bday gift, and another 1 for a Mustang 5.0 I had bought for my ex.

Funny enough, I found that Corvette window sticker some weeks back when I was going through my shed of old stuff.

Well, those are the most basic for "going in to buy" so yes you're right.

But during the process of purchasing, it gets pretty deep.

At the same time, it's really easy and basic to figure out especially if you're really good at talking to people.

The key here is communication, and not just verbal either but interpreting body language and more.

 

And frames that rust out from under otherwise perfectly good trucks...

 

I'm pretty confident this is so there is a record of them paying, and avoiding a "you screwed me!" "but we paid you!" "no you didn't!" scenario in the future.

Also, it's a hoop for Toyota, too.

I’ve seen blackout packages on other cars be over a grand.
Depends if you want blackout or not.
I honestly don’t even know what that means in the context of Toyota. My truck doesn’t have things to black out.
It has window rubber seals that are black. Always. On every car.

Whatever they black out you can sell if you want.
normally? There’s badges and a grill. Remove or plastidip badges.
Upgrade to raptor grill.

All this and I still don't know what a Tacoma "blackout" is.

The only blackouts I know are .300 AAC, the Scorpions album, and/or a case of beer.
