And it's going to cause pricing to be competitive. In fact next year you'll see even more mid-sized truck entering the market, so if we get lucky it might just be a "buyers market". And that means minimal dealer mark up across the board. Yep - Timing is Everything.

What other Mid-size trucks are going to be entering the market? Seems like all the manufacturers that want to be in the segment already have an offering.

There’s $2,000 dealer markup on a $50,000 Ranger Lariat 6G, you think that $2,000 is gonna really sway people?

Well you have the Stout coming. Fisker is bring the Alaska EV truck, Jeep Gladiator, etc. VW Scout 2025, Subaru Baja, Nissan EV 2025 and maybe Kia pick up truck 2025. Bottom line in a year or so we will have so many mid-sized truck on the market (buyer's heads) will be spinning.

Even if they would its doubtful it would be next year, plus it would most likely be a small unibody trucklet and not a regular Mid-Sized truck.

Stout has never even been confirmed by Toyota and definitely will not arrive next year, sounds like the others you listed are basically just speculation too.

I honestly dont care one way or the other, but can tell you what I have observed over the past 15 years or so. People say just wait till the Ridgeline comes out, or the new Colorado, or Gladiator, or Ranger etc., but what happens is those new trucks just draw more attention to the Mid-Sized segment and the Tacoma continues to dominate it.

I have no idea how a base Ridgeline cost more than a Tacoma TRD OR at 38K? Is Honda nuts? A manual TRD OR start out at 37.5K.

Well here goes nothing. I currently drive a 2nd generation Ridgeline. I previously owned a 2009 TRD Sport and briefly a 2017 Colorado. I work out of my truck daily. The Honda has been the easiest to work out of by far. That swing gate and low to ground is great. AWD drives like a dream to me. I’m going to buy a 2024 taco because I want all the updates and to try a hybrid. If you don’t off road and do drive a lot, the Honda is great.
Forgot to mention the trunk. Very handy. FWIW I only haul about 400-500 pounds of work gear

The Gladi is too specialized to be your typical midsized truck, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they try again and go mainstream midsize.

With the new CAFE standards set out last week, that required the fleet to achieve 58MPG by 2032, and the current standard of 49MPG by 2026 I would not be surprised if we don't see a wholesale shifting of the truck market all together.

Especially if you consider that the new Cafe standards have an emphasis on trucks achieving better efficiency sooner than cars. I think the entire truck market will shift and more Maverick like trucks will be in the market, and larger trucks for towing. We might see the midsize and 1/2 ton market look entirely different.

As more companies produce the smaller unibody trucks like the maverick etc...you may see the midsize market actually shrink considerably.

Cant speak to the Ridgeline but I have a 21 Pilot that is almost a rubber stamp, and the difference in interior build quality, fit and finish, interior materials etc is night and day. The Tacoma feels closer to Corolla grade. The pilot feels closer to a luxury SUV. It’s also larger.

Yes the taco is BOF and more capable off roader. But that’s not the only factor.
