    Backseat dog deck.

Just finished this up tonight as it’s getting dark. The Tacoma back seat was horrible for my bloodhounds due to the small size and their inability to think critically about why they keep falling on the floor between the front and back seats. So I’ve seen some similar simple solutions and thought I’d share my attempt.

The deck is 24” x 53” 1/2” OSB because I had a good scrap piece in the garage. I laid that in and penciled the clearance for the center console. I used indoor/outdoor carpet wrapped over it with 3M spray adhesive and staples holding the upholstery. Then a solid bottom sheet of the carpet to complete and finish the wrap. I opted for the brown because that’s what they had at Menards with a texture on it and hopefully it will hide the hair a little better. The black carpet was smooth and thinner so this will hopefully be more comfortable and offer more traction.

Legs are spare pieces of 2x4 cut to 13”, screwed together into L shaped and upholstered with the same carpet. Then I used deck screws through the top to mount them. It’s light and easy to install/remove.

I’m sure someone smarter could engineer a folding and easier to store option, but simplicity seemed like a better route.

This weekend I’ll see how it does with my two idiots.

Installed my ebay snorkel earlier today, did it in a little over 5 hours taking my time so I didn't mess any other parts up. I also changed front fenders since I found one really cheap on fb so i could keep my original because I was scared of messing up.

The snorkel DID plug n play with my S & B Cold air intake box so it was great being able to keep that thing after looking on tw and only finding a couple "it doesn't fit" threads

Only every time I pass a shiny building, a shiny car in front of me or anything close to the truck that casts reflections of the turn signals out of sync.

Happens nearly every day.......which is why I was asking.

2 questions. 1 how did you order that lift kit? Alotnof shops won’t install parts you bring to them they have to order it themselves. 2nd- why is your front sticking out so much more than the rear?

I just ordered it from Accutune. Then I contacted Hefty Fab and asked what their install cost would be, then scheduled a day with them.
move heard of shops like you mentioned. So far haven’t had that issue with the truck.
Not sure what you mean by your second question. How is it sticking out?

How do you like that solar panel? Any feedback on charging from Lensolar? I run solar on all of my trucks and this looks like a nice one for the hood. Otherwise I’ll run one to the top of the truck like I did my Tundra.

Thanks, I felt the same way. Hunted this one down form a company in Australia, In House Fab.

Ricer Fastener kit, my plastics are all disfigured and loose. Nothing really fits tight anymore. They are missing the band in the pics.

I think I'm getting there. Might do a set of Corbeau Trail Cat seats in Black & Tan. And then depending on how the Utah trip goes, I'm considering a 9inch rear rear end. Once thats done, it's time to build the GX. Almost all the not fun dirty work of maintenance, fluids, hoses, plastics, is done on the GX. A couple odds and ends left and that build will be ready to start.

Doing a little bit at a time.
Loyalty has been known to do good work. They are just super busy like many other shops.
