Welp. Some not so good news. Bad roof damage... (Not as bad as originally thought)

Same. That's where I shop mostly. I get everything but vegetables and fruit there. I go to New Moon for that.

Hey folks, just an update. I have an appointment to get the work done on April 18. They'll need the truck for 3 weeks. Hopefully I can get picture updates while the work is being. Need to make sure they do it right.

EDIT: Oh, and the roof rack is NOT going back on right away. Not sure I want to keep it.

^Great update and glad to hear. However, you've gotta keep the rack, it saved your Tacoma to an extent.

Work was approved as of today. Total estimate was $6800 at the end. Not totaled. Whew! I should have it back by May 19th.

New roof is in! Project was delayed a little bit but I should have it back by next Thursday! They're doing a fantastic job!

Some more progress shots. Tomorrow they reassemble and wet sand, then Thursday the windows go back in and I pick her up! So stoked. They did a fantastic job. The paint looks like it doesn't match perfectly but that's just a matter of polishing the rest of the truck when I get it back. I'll do that over the weekend.

Damn, that looks great. Didn't think this was going to be the outcome when you were posting about your truck being buried under slabs of snow....

Yeah, same. I got lucky. Body shop told me if it wasn't a Tacoma it would've been totaled. Good thing they hold their value! I'm hoping to get to polishing and waxing it this weekend to see how closely the old paint actually matches. I'll add more photos after that.

i'm not so sure about that, my 2.5gen roof is so damn thin, I easily dent it putting my hand on it for barely any support, but since it's so thin it just pops right back into place lol.

Glad it all worked out for you, probably best case scenario! truck looks beautiful once again. Was expecting way worse judging from the first pic.

So I did take it back to the shop and had them repaint the cab. They took it back no questions asked, and even replaced the door handles with a metal set that I bought and replaced my broken door lock cylinder for free. Also fixed a rattle in my door. I'm pretty happy :)PXL_20230728_221931697.jpg

Why'd you get them to re paint the cab?

The color was way off. It was quite a few shades darker and didn't have that orange "glitter" like the original paint has. Very noticeable on this picture. Maybe I'm picky but it was bugging the crap out of me.
