I had to clear out one side of my garage to make room for some new kitchen cabinets that are getting dropped off sometime this week. While I was at it, I tried out one of the lights I got through my job. I think they're going to work out great! I'm tempted to paint the walls white to get more out of them.

Also, seeing all of that empty space got me thinking how nice it would be to keep the 4runner in there once the cabinets are installed. I had to try it on. Perfect fit! I've never kept a vehicle in a garage before, so this is pretty cool to me!

If all of this fails, try picking it up a few inches and then dropping it. Usually works for me.

Just wait till winter and you can get in to a nice cozy non-snowed over 4runner. Pure luxury.

It’s also nice when you start a job but don’t quite finish and just want to be done for the night. As long as you remember to put the car in far enough for the garage door to close behind it. I carefully positioned the 4runner before I put it up on stands (to change my transfer case oil), but jacking it must have moved it backwards just enough I had to push on the door to clear the hinges lol. Would have sucked to have to lower it and roll it in just to do the same tomorrow.

By the way, love the lights. I’m a light fiend….I wan’t to be able to do rocket surgery under them. Can never have enough in a garage!

    Looks real nice man!

I'm a big proponent of keeping vehicles and other equipment out of the elements - makes a huge difference over time, even something as simple as a car port.

If you have more lights consider mounting one or two on the wall down low paint booth style. It’s amazing how much that helps when you are under the vehicle.

Good point about being able to leave an unfinished project overnight. There is a possibility that my TC might wind up in there for a while while I start picking at the clutch project. I'm not really looking forward to it, but I really do want to have that car back on the road.

I definitely like the idea of being able to get it out of the sun at least to wax it without the wax baking on.

I like this idea! Unfortunately, I only got two of the lights because they are so bright.

I'm hoping that painting the walls will maybe help project some more of that light down underneath the vehicle. But, I always have other options. :D

I did a clutch in my TC when I had it. Was doable but wasn't all that fun. If I remember the worst part was getting the trans remounted, otherwise it was just tight spaces to work in. Was able to do it in a weekend which included time having the flywheel resurfaced.

Cool, thanks. I guess I better get a service manual and start looking at it. Although, part of me thinks it's all probably pretty simple. I just need to get that thing up on jack stands and start picking at it before it turns into a full-time paperweight.

Meh, Don't really need a service manual, but I guess wouldn't hurt to have. There is stuff on the internet on doing the replacement, Here's one after a quick search https://youtu.be/QHA5YpNiFf4?t=55

    Mine's a 2nd gen (2012), but I'm sure the process is similar.
